Dal 26 maggio al 12 giugno 2010 torna a Venezia il 7. Festival Internazionale di Danza Contemporanea. Sotto la direzione di Ismael Ivo la Biennale ospita una selezione dei più innovativi coreografi che operano sul linguaggio della danza. Capturing Emotions: la danza è “un laboratorio di emozioni umane e visioni condivise”.

Continuano gli eventi del Teatro Piccolo Arsenale, in programma fino al 10 aprile 2010.

Sabato 20 marzo è stato presentato Capturing the City, un progetto multidisciplinare che ha coinvolto venti danzatori della’Arsenale della Danza insieme a dodici studenti dello IUAV, provenienti dai corsi di architettura, teatro e arti visive. (continua…)

The first events of the Degree Zero project by Ismael Ivo, director of the Dance Sector of Venice Biennale, will take place from 20th to 28th June in the Arsenale venues: on show will be young performers invited to explore masters’ choreographies – from Trisha Brown and Jasmeen Godder to Pina Bausch and Robyn Orlin. Alongside these initial rehearsals, there will be the eagerly-awaited original creation by Michael Clark, born of the passion for rock music of one of the most significant dancers and choreographers on the British scene, presented as a world premiere at the Biennale and then to tour in leading European festivals.
And finally, there will be two days dedicated to an International Colloquium of Contemporary Dance to reflect on the present and future of this discipline, with artists, scholars, choreographers and critics from the sector.

The new Venice Biennale (defined by President Paolo Baratta as “a place of exchange, connected with the life of the city and its territory”) opens the doors of the Arsenale della Danza, the new centre for contemporary dance training directed by Ismael Ivo, with a cycle of open classes and masterclasses until May 30th at Teatro Piccolo Arsenale.
Some of the greatest representatives of international dance will entertain the audience with sessions of their work, in an intercultural exchange involving the Italian, Turkish, Swiss, Venezuelan, French and Japanese dancers and the spectators alike.
