The world of jazz meets with cinema and theatre: on November 6, 2008 at the Malibran Theatre Paolo Fresu and Lella Costa, directed by Ferdinando Vicentini Orgnani, will present the show Percorsi di pace, Pathways of peace, as part of Mediterraneo, the International Theatre Workshop of the Venice Biennale.

The full-length film La sindrome di Sant’Erasmo by Ferdinando Vicentini Orgnani will be the core event of a wonderful evening, blending cinema, jazz and theatre at the Malibran Theatre in Venice.
In 2004, Sant’Erasmo, one of the islands of the Venice lagoon, was the venue of an encounter between young people coming from Israel, Palestinian Territories and Italy. Ferdinando Vicentini Orgnani, the director of Ilaria Alpi. Il più crudele dei giorni, who followed and documented with his camera this unique experience, decided to keep on shooting in order to understand one of the most complicated conflicts of contemporary history, through the people directly involved on both sides.
For the soundtrack Orgnani has wanted Paolo Fresu, one of the most important figures of jazz, well-known and beloved in Italy as well as all over the world. Paolo Fresu has gathered the perfect musicians for interpreting this encounter between the various cultures belonging to the Mediterranean shores.
Percorsi di pace, created by Orgnani in collaboration with the City of Venice, represents a unique concert/show featuring an extraordinary group of musicians: the modern sound of Fresu’s trumpet mingles with the magical and archaic sound of the Dhafer Youssef’s sacred oud – the Arabic lute, engaging in a dialogue with the accordion of Antonello Salis, the guitar of Bebo Ferra and the contrabass of Paolino Dalla Porta. Mediterranean poetry and sound through the narrating voice of Lella Costa, reading the text by the writer Marcello Fois, will enrich this unique night.
