An entire exhibition as a work of art: on 16 February Museo Correr will inaugurate a new exhibition by Lawrence Carroll.
Site-specific installations in nine rooms form a single huge work. Objects, canvases, ready-mades: this Australian artist owes much to Rothko’s use of colour, Rauschenberg’s recovery of memory, to the Minimalists’ relationship with space and to the humbleness of Morandi’s everyday things.
During the 25 years of activity celebrated in this exhibition Carroll has explored the ways in which works can occupy space and the way volumes interact with the environment and with each other, creating the large installation on display in the rooms of the Museo Correr.
