The spotlight is on the tenth edition of Venice Fashion Week: events, exhibitions, fashion shows blending fashion and craftsmanship, live and online. Presentations take place safely in artisan ateliers and in the secret rooms of Venice’s finest hotels.

From October 23 to 25, Open Ateliers
Emerging designers and artisan talent are the protagonists of three days dedicated to artisan workshops, which open their doors to showcase the creatives at work. Artists, goldsmiths, beaders, decorators, typographers, paper artists, florists, graphic designers: artisans are the lifeblood of Venice. Among this year’s highlights are the Open Ateliers itineraries, discovering workshops and mastery.

Wednesday, October 28, Hotel Danieli, LIVE DIGITAL EVENT from 4:00 PM
Fabio Marzari interviews Franco Puppato, the great Venetian tailor who has dressed divas and royalty and has just received the Arbiter award, the Oscar of Italian tailoring. A witness to splendor and guardian of the secrets of artisan tradition
In the precious rooms of Hotel Danieli, Maestro Puppato will take us into his Venetian tailoring workshop to tell the story of his life in fashion. Watch the event online
Thursday, October 29, Nicolao Atelier, LIVE DIGITAL EVENT, from 6:00 PM
Stefano Nicolao is a Master creator of historical costumes for theater and cinema. His theatrical and haute couture atelier in Venice is among the richest and most incredible in the world: hundreds of meters of velvets and crinolines envelop you with over 15,000 costumes, precious fabrics, hats, footwear, period accessories, all handmade with precious materials.
Stefano Nicolao’s career is a dream that spans from Cinecittà to Hollywood, from the Marco Polo film to the world’s most important theaters, to haute couture gowns for the 2020 Red Carpets. Thursday, October 29, from 6:00 PM onward, a live online presentation of the costume exhibition at Hotel Ca’ Sagredo and Nicolao Atelier, which this year celebrates 40 years of activity and prepares for the moment when it will present at Ca’ Sagredo Venetians Reflections, a fashion show-performance to tell the history of Venice through eras and creations. Saturday, October 31, Hotel Aman Venice, LIVE DIGITAL EVENT, from 12:00 PM
Fabio Marzari interviews Luciana Boccardi, a Venetian journalist among Italy’s most important fashion experts, with contributions from Roberto Papetti, director of Il Gazzettino, and Arrigo Cipriani, who will introduce Boccardi’s latest book: Burlesque – Dizionario surreale (Ed. La Musa Talia). Watch the event online
An ironic and irreverent editorial “game” that traces a surreal picture through emotions, memories of characters encountered during her very long career as an indomitable journalist, writer, magazine director, who witnessed the birth of the greatest designers and observed the evolution of Italian fashion from the 1960s to 2020, a Venetian who in “Burlesque” launches a “utopian” appeal in the afterword for her beloved city.

In the Secret Rooms: five designers between craftsmanship and sustainable fashion
As in the times of the Serenissima Republic, Venetian hotels are meeting places where innovations for the future are born: Hotel Danieli, Corte di Gabriela, Palazzo Venart and The St. Regis Venice present five designers who connect artisan tradition to innovation for sustainability.
The special time we are living through pushes us to create new ways of communicating: in the Venice fashion shows, roles are reversed and thus it will be the audience, in compliance with safety measures, who moves through the spaces.
Friday, October 23, Hotel Danieli, 7:00 PM LIVE
In the splendid Royal Suite of Hotel Danieli, the fashion show of the brand Martina Vidal, fourth generation of a Venetian company that safeguards the artisan heritage of Burano lace by bringing it into the future with contemporary design. Beneath the frescoes of the suite overlooking the San Marco Basin, we will admire the new collection created in collaboration with young designer Michela Gaiofatto.
Saturday, October 24, Corte di Gabriela Boutique Hotel, 7:00 PM LIVE
From the encounter between a magical boutique hotel waiting to be visited and discovered and a creative designer, wonders can be born: Norma Marzà presents her brand Teo d’Amar, which starts from the concept of the beach towel, made of precious materials and artisan craftsmanship. The new collection of kimonos, embroidered bags, beach towels, and furlane in a thousand colors testifies to Norma’s commitment to sustainable fashion through creative craftsmanship.
Sunday, October 25, Hotel Palazzo Venart, 6:00 PM LIVE
In the sumptuous spaces of the sixteenth-century Palazzo Venart overlooking the Grand Canal, designer Alessandra De Franza presents the new collection Tabinotabi, a clothing brand and project that takes up the ecological challenge with an innovative and sustainable fabric derived from algae. Rich in vitamins, trace elements, amino acids, and minerals, the Tabinotabi fiber helps cellular regeneration, protects against free radicals, and reduces inflammation.

The theatrical atelier of Stefano Nicolao presents on the ground floor and in the rooms of the first floor of Palazzo Sagredo the history of Venice through a selection of costumes and creations, including the faithful reproduction of the Sagredo Family.

Second edition of the Venice Photo Lab festival, photographic exhibition and workshop with international photographers, conceived by Lab77 with UNISVE – Unione Stuccatori Veneziani, and curated by Fabio Cavessago and Guido Jaccarino.

The Open Ateliers itinerary in the Dorsoduro district, discovering designers and artisan workshops, is curated by DO.VE Social Promotion Association, which brings together residents, shopkeepers, artisans, and artists of Dorsoduro, organizing events open to the city that promote creativity, talent, and passion.
Il Nuovo Trionfo, a sailing artisan workshop

The trabaccolo Il Nuovo Trionfo is a historic sailing vessel moored at Punta della Dogana that represents a civic project to restore an ancient boat and bear witness to the value of many traditional maritime trades. On the occasion of Open Ateliers, the artisan members engaged in restoration will welcome visitors aboard and illustrate the cultural project and enhancement of the vessel.
