The week of sartorial, artisanal, and sustainable fashion returns to Venice from October 21 to 27, 2024, to celebrate Made in Italy and local excellence
Part of the City of Venice’s Major Events, Venice Fashion Week showcases the city’s cultural identity in historic palaces and local ateliers.
Craftsmanship and sustainability are the pillars of Venice Fashion Week, which over the years has brought Venice into the international debate on responsible fashion. Each event is an opportunity to get to know the artisans and designers who work with sartorial techniques, innovative materials, and ethical approaches.
Venice’s palaces tell the story of craftsmanship and a fashion that originates from the territory and respects the planet: the city’s iconic locations, such as Palazzo Sagredo, Palazzo Venart, and artisan ateliers, become stages for showcasing mastery. Among the events are the new edition of Le Mani Sapienti, an event showcasing sartorial fashion, and the The Blue Artisan Award, which celebrates a master craftsman and the transmission of know-how to new generations.
A unique format to enhance people and talents: with a program of events, talks, open ateliers, and exhibitions, Venice Fashion Week creates an active dialogue between artisans, designers, and the public. Among the protagonists: nine sustainable brands, master artisans, architecture and fashion illustrator Jacopo Ascari with the exhibition L’Immagine della Città, and Matteo Ward, CEO of WRAD and member of Fashion Revolution Italy, with the book Fuorimoda!.
For the third year, Jacopo Ascari designs the image of Venice Fashion Week.

Monday, October 21 | Lunardelli Venezia | Convivio
An exhibition in a carpentry workshop presents Convivio, an installation and collection exploring the dialogue between wood, glass, fashion, and design.
Tuesday, October 22 | Palazzo Sagredo | Le Mani Sapienti
Third edition of the event dedicated to the protagonists of bespoke manufacturing, upcycling culture, and sustainable innovation, who create sartorial and planet-conscious fashion collections, selected annually by Venice Fashion Week. In the monumental spaces of Palazzo Sagredo, nine designers offer a unique look at the state of the art of responsible fashion.
Wednesday, October 23 | Hotel Saturnia & International | Calle Larga XXII Marzo
Venice’s luxury street comes alive with cultural meetings, events, and talks.
- Open Ateliers San Marco
Venezia da Vivere opens the doors of the boutiques on Calle Larga XXII Marzo, Venice’s high-end store street, with cultural meetings that describe the luxury street as an experiential journey connected to the identity of the St. Mark’s area. In collaboration with the Associazione Piazza San Marco. - Sustainable Fashion Day
In the history-filled spaces of the Hotel Saturnia & International, a talk dedicated to the role of craftsmanship in sustainable fashion and its contribution to conscious tourism and the promotion of a circular economy. - The Blue Artisan Award 2024 – 3rd Edition | Hotel Saturnia & International
Award ceremony for The Blue Artisan, created by Venezia da Vivere, which celebrates sustainable artisanal excellence. The Murano glass sculpture, created by Master Pierpaolo Seguso of Seguso Vetri d’Arte, is presented to a master craftsman who has successfully passed his art to new generations: Sandro Zara, the man who innovated the tradition of the tabarro. - Tabarro Street Style – Caravellino and Via XXII Marzo
Street style returns to Venice with a performance-walk that renews the tradition of the Liston and rediscovers models and variations of sartorial menswear and the tabarro, the iconic Venetian garment.
Friday, October 25 | Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel
A project curated by Venezia da Vivere for Palazzo Venart and LDC Hotels, blending art, craftsmanship, and sustainable fashion.
- Matteo Ward, CEO of WRAD and member of Fashion Revolution Italy, presents his book Fuorimoda! Stories and proposals to restore value to what we wear, in conversation with Jacopo Ascari and Alessandra Vaccari, professor at Iuav University of Venice Fashion.
- Jacopo Ascari presents the exhibition L’Immagine della Città – architectural tales for a contemporary Renaissance. The project, curated by Venezia da Vivere for Palazzo Venart, is a dialogue between Jacopo Ascari, artist, illustrator, and designer, and Venetian master craftsmen – Lunardelli Venezia, Orsoni Venezia 1888, and Ramosalso – for an illustrated journey through Italian capitals: the artist portrays human values and the memory of places, telling the identity dimension of Venice, Rome, Milan, and Florence.
Monday to Sunday | Open Ateliers
Meetings, aperitifs, and workshops in artisan workshops and places of cultural conviviality, to meet the creatives who preserve and innovate the city’s cultural heritage.
