The twelfth edition of Venice Fashion Week involved over 120 entities including artisans, designers, brands, schools, foundations, and institutions, with a widespread program of exhibitions, meetings, workshops, and presentations dedicated to the dialogue between fashion, craftsmanship, education, and research.
Among the key moments were the public conversation with Dries Van Noten at the Giardini Reali, the exhibition for the 150th anniversary of Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua, the international participation of the City of Gdańsk, the presentations by emerging designers, and the exhibition Venetian Glamour by Jacopo Ascari.
Alongside the public program, Venice Fashion Week developed an educational project for students of Art Logistics at ITS Marco Polo Academy, who were involved in the organization and installation of exhibitions and events.
Venice Fashion Week in the Contemporary Imagination
In the ninth and tenth episodes of the fifth season of the series Emily in Paris, set in Venice, Venice Fashion Week enters the narrative of the show.
Pierre Cadault, the eccentric couturier of the series, finds a venue for Marcello’s fashion show at Venice Fashion Week. To Alfie’s question “Does Venice have a fashion week?”, Nico’s response is: “It’s for emerging designers.”
A phrase that conveys an image consistent with the “real” Venice Fashion Week, founded in 2013 as an independent project dedicated to sustainable fashion, contemporary craftsmanship, and emerging designers.
The fact that an international series introduces this model into the global imagination is a sign of how the narrative of fashion is changing and how Venice is now perceived not only as a backdrop, but as a design context and place of experimentation for contemporary fashion.
Venice Fashion Week Dates
- Venice Fashion Week 2026 will take place from October 19 to 24.
- From April 15 to 18, 2026, the Atelier Aperti project of Venice Fashion Week will participate as always in the Made in Italy Days of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy.
Beyond the events, Venice Fashion Week is active year-round as a communication platform that addresses cultural production, research, and new talent, with an integrated vision of fashion, craftsmanship, community, territory, and sustainability in Venice.
A Growing Cultural Network
For twelve years, Venice Fashion Week has promoted craftsmanship, sustainability, and innovation.
It is a network of collaborations with ateliers, textile mills, universities, foundations, and institutions, working year-round to promote craftsmanship and sustainable fashion, and to strengthen the identity of Venice as a center of creativity, experimentation, and production.
It is an open space for students and young designers who have the opportunity to present collections and participate in event organization, testing their projects in professional contexts.
It is a network that reaches over 300,000 followers on social media, engages Italian and international brands, and contributes to keeping Venice at the center of the debate on sustainability.
