Venice Gallery Weekend 2026: for three days in Venice, the city’s independent galleries open their doors to the public with exhibitions, meetings, openings, and visits
On March 27, 28, and 29, the art season comes to life with Venice Gallery Weekend, an event promoted by Venice Galleries View, the independent galleries of Venice. For three days in Venice, galleries and creative spaces open their doors to the public with a widespread program of exhibitions, meetings, openings, and visits.
Seventeen contemporary art galleries in Venice have come together to promote contemporary art in the region, strengthening the perception of a dynamic network of exhibition spaces capable of engaging with museums and foundations and contributing to the city’s cultural vitality throughout the year.
The initiative returns after the success of previous editions with the aim of strengthening the dialogue between the Venetian art system and local and international visitors, highlighting the richness and diversity of the entities present in the city.
Founded in 2018, Venice Galleries View has grown over the years, welcoming new galleries and participating increasingly actively in Venice’s artistic ecosystem. Vernissages, talks, and special events span languages, artistic practices, and visions of contemporary research.
The Venice Gallery Weekend is part of a phase of profound transformation for Venice, which is increasingly chosen by artists, collectors, and international visitors as a place of cultural production, research, and residency. A context in which galleries play an active role in building a widespread contemporary scene that is accessible and in dialogue with the urban fabric.
The event serves as an interactive guide to Venice’s independent galleries. The full program, including gallery hours and logistical information, will soon be available on the website and social media channels of Venice Gallery View. The Venice Gallery Weekend route will wind through the city’s sestieri, offering the opportunity to experience Venice off the traditional circuits and to meet artists, curators, and gallerists in open cultural spaces, engaging in dialogue, sharing toasts, and creating projects together with guests, collectors, and journalists.
