With ‘A Spritz with Venezia da Vivere’ we will tell you what has impressed us and what we like, narrated by the pics of our fantastic photographer.<\/h2>\n

In Venice drinking the aperitif called “Spritz” is a real ritual: it means taking a little break from all the daily worries to spend a few minutes to catch up with friends at the end of the day, and talk about of what Tilda Swinton<\/strong> wore at\u00a0At Eternity’s Gate\u00a0<\/strong>redcarpet, an animalier dress by\u00a0Schiaparelli Haute Couture,\u00a0<\/strong>or about the\u00a0Dior worn by\u00a0Natalie Portman<\/strong> at the press conference of Vox Lux<\/strong>\u00a0(Ph. Rossana Viola and Cristina Di Bella)<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Where to drink a ‘Spritz’ at the Venice International Film Festival<\/h3>\n

The Campari Lounge<\/strong> at the beginning of the red carpet (with a new cocktail), has immediately become a place to be<\/em> this year, even if it is mandatory to have an invitation. On the red terrace interviews with the most wanted characters by RAI Cinema are taking place.<\/p>\n

Also very popular is the Lexus Lounge<\/strong> opposite the Casino on the Terrace overlooking the beach, where interviews and meetings with directors and actors, and evening parties are being organised. Here tonight the most classic of the parties will be held, the one organized by the monthly magazine Ciak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The films that we have liked the most so far<\/h3>\n

SULLA MIA PELLE<\/strong> by Alessio Cremonini<\/strong>, with Alessandro Borghi and Jasmine Trinca (Orizzonti). This is a Netflix production (available online from the 12th September) which has already been sold in more than 100 countries. It recreates, through more than 10,000 pages of procedural documents, journalistic reports and interviews, the story of Stefano Cucchi, his family and the last days of his life. Filmed almost like a documentary, it always makes “measure and respect” prevail.<\/p>\n

An outstanding Alessandro Borghi did a great job both on his body by losing over 18 kilos and on his voice (you will understand this at the end of the movie). Nonsense the controversy that some people have tried to raise: the film does not express judgments and does not suggest what to think but it just gives us some elements to help us reasoning.<\/p>\n

A STAR IS BORN\u00a0<\/strong>by Bradley Cooper<\/strong>, with Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga<\/strong> (Out of Competition). The fourth remake of this story, a modern one (even with viewers on youtube), was entrusted to the voice and the charisma of the couple Cooper-Gaga; we liked it; there has been a great enthusiasm around it.<\/p>\n

Jackson Maine is a rock singer, Chris Cornell. Beautiful and damned, with a dark past and a shadow of drugs and alcohol. After one of his concerts he has a drink in the first place he finds, (he will only discover later that he is in a ‘drag queen bar’), in which, dressed as Edith Piaf, the young Ally performs. Maine convinces her to play her own songs in front of an audience making it a success.<\/p>\n

At the press conference, we asked Lady Gaga to tell us what she felt when acting that very moving scene in which Ally, for the first time, plays her music to the public. The pop star replied that in those scenes, Bradley and her were very deeply involved in acting their parts and everything seemed very realistic, both because they were playing live for a real audience [they shot at Coachella, one of the most important festivals in the US] and because they were both “debutants”, Lady Gaga as an actress and Bradley Cooper as a director.<\/p>\n

\u2018I remember very well that during the last ‘take’ that we made of that scene Bradley told me ‘ok this time you go out and have fun’, and I played my song as if it was the very first time, and it was a really special moment\u2019. And the music could be the key to the success of this moving and non-melancholy film, with the ballad “Shallow” that will become a classic.<\/p>\n

The two actors dedicated their time to thank all the fans both after the press conference and on the red carpet, and signed autographs in the pouring rain, with a very rare kindness. At the end of the screening in Sala Grande, which was interrupted by a blackout of about 15 minutes due to the storm, they were taken to the Palabiennale, and they surprised everyone by greeting them and thanking them with affection and excitement.<\/p>\n

\n \n \"\" <\/a>\n \n \"\" <\/a>\n \n \"\" <\/a>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

ROMA\u00a0<\/strong>by Alfonso Cuaron<\/strong>: it is a film that has fascinated us all. It is the story of a family of the rich middle class, in the Mexico City’s ‘Roma’ district, and especially of Cleo, an apparently fragile woman who works in the family as a maid and housekeeper and becomes an integral part of it.<\/p>\n

A story of selfish and absent men and women who discover solidarity and the pride of doing things on their own<\/strong>. There is also a very funny short movie inside the movie itself, when the protagonists go to the cinema to see “Lost in Space”, a b-movie about astronauts with special anti-drift effects, which self-cites “Gravity” by the same Cuaron (under the astronaut’s helmet a Hollywood star seems also to appear…).<\/p>\n

FR\u00c8RES ENNEMIS<\/strong>\u00a0by\u00a0David Oelhoffen<\/strong>, with Matthias Schoenaerts. Film discovery. Starting from a story that seems to be a ‘classic’ crime, we end up in a vortex of relationships, of common past, of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ that, like in a revolving door, keeps going from one to the other, and in which violence and revenge ultimately hurt everyone. Inspired by Gomorra, in our opinion, it surpasses it. Nice performance by French rapper Superpoze<\/strong>, who has also written the music for the film.<\/p>\n

\n \n \"\" <\/a>\n \n \"\" <\/a>\n \n \"\" <\/a>\n <\/div>\n<\/div>\n

The festival and women<\/h3>\n

The 75th Venice International Film Festival started with a controversy over the low percentage of films in competition directed by female directors (around 21-22%). President Baratta since the opening press conference has held that there have never been any prejudices whatsoever, but that the transparency checking system can be improved.<\/p>\n

He therefore wanted to make a strong statement by signing “a document already signed by other Festivals” to start a series of initiatives to solve this issue. Although there are few female directors, on the other hand there are many films that have women as their main characters.<\/p>\n

In THE FAVORITE<\/strong> with Emma Stone, three women share the scene and two compete for the Queen’s favours. Film almost completely feminine, ironic and sarcastic, sometimes deliberately over the top (memorable is the scene of a ball that has little to do with the 18th<\/sup> century and that in the choreography recreates some iconic movements of our century, from rock and roll, to “Vogue” up to the famous Pulp Fiction scene).<\/p>\n

An all-female film also the one by Guadagnino, who after an Oscar nomination, tries again with the same leading ladies of “A Bigger Splash” (Dakota Johnson and Tilda Swinton) and the same writer (David Kajganich). “SUSPIRIA<\/strong>” is the remake (or as cleverly says Tilda Swinton, the “cover”) of a pillar among Dario Argento’s movies, filmed in 1977 in a Berlin still divided by the wall (although the interior scenes were shot in the Grand Hotel of Varese, renovated for the occasion).<\/p>\n

The film, even if the room was divided between whistles and applauses, involves the audience and it is worth watching also thanks to the wonderful music written by Thom Yorke of Radiohead.<\/p>\n
