The Venice Fashion Week turns the spotlight on the Made in Italy and Venetian tailoring fashion excellences<\/h2>\n

It is already time to plan Venice Fashion Week 2019.<\/strong> At the end of October the fashion week brought 70 national and international and creative designers<\/strong> to Venice to have a look at the slow, hand and tailor-made fashion created in Venice; it has been an important event on fashion culture and the Made in Italy.<\/strong> Exhibitions, meetings, cocktails and twenty-five fashion shows,<\/strong> almost like live performances, have interacted with the ancient spaces of the Venetian palaces creating a widespread event around palaces, hotels, artisan shops, boutiques and even the Venice\u2019s Campi.<\/p>\n

Venice Fashion Week has created and revealed a wide network of collaborations among creative designers and the excellences of the Veneto and Italian craftsmanship.<\/strong> Venice has once again been reaffirmed, as it has been throughout the centuries, as the protagonist of style, know-how, talent and creativity.<\/strong><\/p>\n

In the same way craftsmanship unites the creative process with a continuous research so each handmade item tells a story that makes it unique and unrepeatable. If the recovery and preservation of ancient processing techniques<\/strong> is of fundamental importance, so it is the application of modern technologies<\/strong> and innovative ways of communicating.<\/strong> This is also valid for the choice of materials, which need to adapt to the contemporary taste and to the new requirements of a changing world.<\/p>\n

The theme of Venice Fashion Week 2018 has been slow fashion, artisanal, sustainable and ethical.<\/strong> On the catwalks we have seen green fashion and solidarity projects; where tailoring has become a mean for professional reintegration and social redemption and fashion a cross-section of the contemporary time, the mirror of this era and its ideas. With Venice Fashion Week Venice has become the capital of slow fashion.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Let’s go through a photo gallery of Venice Fashion Week 2018 events with a special thank you to all those who collaborated: stylists, designers, hotels, palaces and institutions, models, make-up artists, photographers and the public.<\/p>\n

The protagonists of Venice Fashion Week 2018<\/h2>\n

Protagonist of the Venice Fashion Week is the haute couture that requires the same meticulous work as the one done by architects. \u2018Apart<\/strong><\/a>\u2019 is the contemporary fashion project by Daniela Giacometti,<\/strong> a collection created with the aim of recovering and safeguarding the precious Venetian craft and artistic heritage.<\/p>\n

The clothes of Michela Gaiofatto,<\/strong><\/a> combine the concept of aesthetics with that of functionality and they are designed with a profound research and meticulous attention to details; as it is Fabiana Filipp’s<\/strong><\/a> collection, a Made in Italy brand with delicate and feminine lines.<\/p>\n

Timeless elegance in the cloaks by Sandro Zara,<\/strong> creator of Tabarrificio Veneto<\/strong><\/a>. Traditions and historicity for the Atelier Pietro Longhi<\/strong><\/a>, which recreates the history of Venetian garments and Tessitura Bevilacqua<\/strong><\/a> whose precious fabrics are also used for Carla Plessi’s<\/strong> bags-sculptures and Norma’s<\/strong> bags and \u2018furlane\u2019 (typical Venetian shoes).<\/p>\n

Art connects people and knowledge:Veraroad<\/strong><\/a>– a Florentine brand that creates pyjamas and kimono to be worn day and night \u2013 worked together with the historic Atelier Martina Vidal<\/strong><\/a>, a consolidated creator of fine lace and linen. They walked the catwalk together at Palazzo Marin and Caff\u00e8 Lavena.<\/p>\n

A fortunate collaboration was also the one between the radical fashion garments of Atelier Ivo Milan<\/strong><\/a> – where originality is an absolute prerogative – and the hand-made glasses by Micromega<\/strong>, presented together with Palazzo Marin.<\/p>\n

Fashion takes care of contemporary themes such as the green revolution and the commitment to ethical and sustainable fashion discussed in the Make it last<\/strong><\/a> conference with experts in the sector, organized with Ca ‘Foscari University – Department of Management.<\/p>\n

Interpreters of the new luxury are four brands that make their garments to support social projects by enhancing artisan know-how, techniques and innovative fabrics. They are Progetto Quid<\/strong> with the Wonder Woman line, Imama<\/strong>\u00a0<\/a> Project,<\/strong> \u00a0Poethica<\/strong> Banco Lotto n10<\/strong><\/a> – the tailoring workshop inside the Women’s Detention House on the Giudecca Island which was presented at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi.<\/p>\n
