The international exhibition on contemporary fine craftsmanship Homo Faber: The Journey of Life<\/a> <\/strong>presents extraordinary objects and talented artisans at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini<\/strong> on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore from September 1 to 30, 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The second edition of Homo Faber in Citt\u00e0<\/a><\/strong> invites visitors to observe master artisans and young talents in Venice in the places where they create: over 70 workshops open for free visits<\/strong> without reservation, during specific hours.<\/p>\n

Splendid Venice – Starhotels Collezione<\/strong><\/a> and Fondazione Cologni present the exhibition of the collection of porcelain hearts created by Elica Studio<\/strong>. An initiative within the contemporary patronage project La Grande Bellezza<\/strong>, in support of fine Italian craftsmanship, promoted by Starhotels with Fondazione Cologni, OMA-Osservatorio dei Mestieri d’Arte, and Gruppo Editoriale. <\/p>\n

\nThe life of a Venetian nobleman in the 18th century at Ca\u2019 Querini
\n<\/strong>Fondazione Querini Stampalia, <\/b>Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Castello 5252<\/p>\n

A journey into the life of an 18th-century Venetian nobleman through the precious objects displayed in the house museum of the Fondazione Querini Stampalia<\/strong><\/a>. The themed itinerary is accessible to all visitors via QR Codes placed next to the most significant objects: they link to stories in Italian and English that immerse the visitor in the history of the artifact and its use. <\/p>\n

\nPoolside Crafts. Fortuny collaborates with Dante Negro
\n<\/strong>Fortuny, Giudecca 805<\/p>\n

Fortuny<\/a><\/strong>, the textile maison founded in 1921 by the Spanish artist and inventor Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo<\/strong>, presents on the occasion of Homo Faber 2024 its collaboration with Dante Negro<\/a><\/strong>, a Venetian company specialized in the metamorphosis of metal, a poolside dialogue between fine craftsmanship and design<\/strong> in one of Venice’s most evocative secret gardens.<\/p>\n

\nContemporary ceramics in Venice
\n<\/strong>Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel, Calle Tron 1961<\/p>\n

Palazzo Venart<\/strong><\/a> Luxury Hotel<\/strong> presents an exhibition curated by Gaetano Di Gregorio<\/a><\/strong>: a dialogue between the ancient ceramics present in the Palace and the works of eight contemporary Venetian artisans: Gaetano Di Gregorio<\/strong>, Chiara Graciotti<\/strong>, Daniela Levera<\/strong>, Adele Stefanelli<\/strong>, Valentina Stocco<\/strong>, SVO Ceramics<\/strong>, and the duo The Freaky Raku<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

\n<\/strong>Boutique Maison Margiela, Piazza San Marco 78 e \/ 78 c<\/p>\n

Maison Margiela celebrates contemporary craftsmanship on the occasion of Homo Faber. The Maison Margiela boutique in Piazza San Marco presents three unique pieces from the Maison Margiela Objects<\/strong> range, created in collaboration with master lace-maker Sandra Mavaracchio<\/strong> from Burano. <\/p>\n

Integrated into three white busts\u2014handmade sculptures that recall Maison Margiela’s signature codes such as “memory of” and the white-out treatment\u2014the lace pieces have a “work in progress” appearance, revealing the paper on which the preparatory drawing is still visible.<\/p>\n

The exhibition is open to the public during store hours<\/em><\/p>\n

Francesca Torsello<\/strong>, creator of the brand +Fragile<\/a>, presents GLASS A<\/strong>, a Murano glass tumbler blown into a stationary iron mold, interpreted by the masters of five Murano furnaces.<\/p>\n

Homo Faber: The Journey of Life<\/h2>\n

From September 1 to 30<\/strong>, 2024, the Michelangelo Foundation, in partnership with Fondazione Cologni and Fondazione Giorgio Cini, presents the third edition of Homo Faber<\/strong>, offering an unprecedented look at the craftsmanship<\/strong> embodied in the objects that mark the most precious moments of our lives.<\/p>\n

Excellence in craftsmanship becomes the tool to celebrate the fundamental stages of life<\/strong>. The artistic direction is entrusted to Luca Guadagnino<\/strong> who, together with architect Nicol\u00f2 Rosmarini<\/strong>, explores and develops the theme of The Journey of Life, based on an idea by Hanneli Rupert<\/strong>, Vice-Chair of the Michelangelo Foundation. The installation they envisioned leads visitors along a path through the monumental complex of the Fondazione Giorgio Cini<\/a><\/strong>, on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore. <\/p>\n

Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship<\/a><\/strong> is a non-profit institution based in Switzerland that supports contemporary artistic artisans worldwide to promote a more inclusive and sustainable future.<\/p>\n

The second edition of Homo Faber in Citt\u00e0 invites visitors to discover the secret addresses where Venetian artisans create<\/strong> objects of exquisite beauty, a rare opportunity to observe masters and young talents at work.<\/p>\n

Visitors can follow one of the suggested thematic itineraries<\/strong> in Venice, Murano, and Burano, or create their own personalized tour from one workshop to another.<\/p>\n
