Until Sunday, November 23, the exhibition In the Blink of an Eye<\/strong> at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia<\/strong> presents Noor Riyadh<\/strong>, the world’s largest light art festival. The exhibition previews the immersive experiences that will define the festival, scheduled to take place in Riyadh from November 20 to December 6<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

The theme \u2013 In the Blink of an Eye<\/em> \u2013 reflects the incredible pace of growth and transformation in Riyadh, a city evolving at the speed of light<\/strong>. The artworks are created by the world’s leading artists (such as Palace of Lights by Robert Wilson<\/strong>) as well as emerging international and Saudi artists. <\/p>\n

Riyadh is undergoing an unprecedented cultural transformation<\/strong> under the aegis of the national public art program Riyadh Art<\/strong>, and the Noor Riyadh Festival is a central element of this evolution. Created to make art accessible to everyone<\/strong>, the festival supports local talent and promotes a cultural renaissance that unites art, technology, and community.<\/p>\n

Immersive installations<\/strong> in various locations across the capital<\/strong> connect its history to its technological future. Artistic itineraries, music performances, drone shows, and virtual reality reinterpret iconic sites through light, inviting the public to reflect on our relationship with the environment and natural heritage. <\/p>\n

The exhibition in Venice<\/h3>\n

Within the spaces designed by Carlo Scarpa<\/strong> at the Querini Stampalia, light becomes a bridge between past and future, East and West, in a visual and architectural dialogue that unites Venice and Riyadh.<\/p>\n

Curators Li Zhenhua <\/strong>and Sarah AlMutlaq<\/strong>, with Curatorial Advisory Lead Mami Kataoka<\/strong>, present four international artists: Abdelrahman Elshahed<\/strong> weaves Venice and Riyadh together through calligraphy and the written word, while Wang Yuyang <\/strong>explores the theme of Riyadh’s illuminated technological development.<\/p>\n

The tribute to Safeya Binzagr<\/strong> (1940\u20132024) presents the pioneer of Saudi modernism, the woman who paved the way for the female presence in Saudi Arabian art.<\/p>\n

At the beginning of the Scarpa area lies a gem: the video Delivery Dancer’s Sphere<\/strong><\/a> by Ayoung Kim<\/strong><\/a>, a Korean “world-builder” artist working across artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and gaming languages. The video takes us racing through a futuristic Seoul with the protagonist on a motorcycle, engaged in a high-speed challenge with her own digital double and a reflection on the race for efficiency and performance. For Noor Riyadh 2025, the artist will interpret the Riyadh metro as an exhibition space. <\/p>\n

Noor Riyadh<\/a> is the largest light art festival in the world<\/strong>. It is held in Saudi Arabia as part of the Riyadh Art program, the major Vision 2030<\/strong> project led by the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. The festival dedicated to light and art is produced by Filmmaster. <\/p>\n
