The Royal Gardens of Venice reopen, a place to stroll, contemplate, and rediscover ourselves.<\/h2>\n

Strolling, reading, being in contemplation. The Royal Gardens of San Marco are many things, above all a place beloved by Venetians, adults and children alike, who in March reclaimed the garden of their childhood and can now celebrate its reopening and first bloom. <\/p>\n

After decades of closure, thanks to the conservation and urban enhancement investment promoted by Venice Gardens Foundation<\/strong><\/a> with Assicurazioni Generali, the Royal Gardens have begun to grow, taking their first steps, and are now lush, colorful, and filled with the scents of spring.<\/p>\n

And so our Venetian itinerary will resume among the neoclassical paths designed by Lorenzo Santi, sheltered by the 19th-century cast-iron pergola approximately 90 meters long, the legendary drawbridge\u2014a physical and visual link between the Royal Gardens and St. Mark’s Square\u2014refreshed by architect Alberto Torsello’s intervention, the glass Greenhouse, now The Human Garden intended for meetings and artistic activities, and the circular central pavilion of the historic Cafehaus, which is now an IllyCaff\u00e8.<\/p>\n

The Royal Gardens are the green heart of the Marciana Area and were redesigned by landscape designer Paolo Pejrone<\/strong>, who supervised their botanical restoration, introducing 22 tall trees, 832 shrubs, 6,560 herbaceous plants, 3,150 bulbs, and 68 climbers. A project that required “courage,” as Pejrone himself emphasized, because it was conceived to preserve and renew a monument. <\/p>\n

In recent days, Venezia da Vivere, together with the Associazione Piazza San Marco<\/strong>, launched the public call #RiscrivereIlFuturo of Venice<\/strong>, a debate open to the public for the city’s rebirth, considering that the future will depend on the choices we make today.<\/p>\n

Among the first interviews is that of the President of the Venice Gardens Foundation, Adele Re Rebaudengo<\/strong>, who offers a vision of well-being between matter and spirit, and testifies to the creativity and enthusiasm of the Venice Gardens Foundation for the themes of Sustainability, Heritage, and Citizenship: Venice as an international laboratory for sustainable development, an International School of Advanced Training for Heritage Gardeners<\/strong>, to return places of meeting, thought, and contemplation to the inhabitants of Venice.<\/p>\n
