The ocean and sustainability take center stage at the grand finale of Venice Fashion Week with Antonia Sautter’s kimonos<\/h2>\n

A couture atelier where silk velvets are hand-printed and kimonos are sewn directly on the models, who pose in scenic tableaux like the frescoes in the hall, in a sixteenth-century palazzo among artworks and sculptures: this is the Dreaming in Azur<\/strong> fashion show-event by Antonia Sautter<\/strong>, dedicated to the waters of Venice and the planet, which closes Venice Fashion Week 2022 on Saturday, October 29 at Palazzo Nani, the home of the Radisson Hotel.<\/p>\n

Precious printed velvets with floral notes and original “In Azur” motifs inspired by the natural textures of the Venetian lagoon, to emphasize the urgency of safeguarding our planet. Antonia Sautter presents her new “Natural Azur<\/strong>” collection of kimono \u00e0 porter and accessories to wear every day, to remind us that nature is our inescapable ally for a sustainable future. <\/p>\n

The Made in Venice of fashion<\/h3>\n

The 2022 edition of Venice Fashion Week<\/a> transformed the lagoon city into an exceptional runway\u2014over 40 ateliers opened in all the city’s districts\u2014with the declared intent of turning the fashion scene’s spotlight on haute couture and high-craftsmanship trades<\/strong>, and telling an international audience the Made in Venice variant of fashion<\/strong>: a compelling sartorial story made of precious silks, cultural and material contaminations, fabrics dyed and printed in all the shades of spices, accessories and ornaments that testify to the encounter between East and West.<\/p>\n

A slow & chic way of making fashion that Venice proudly claims, of which Antonia Sautter<\/a><\/strong>, the Venetian entrepreneur and designer entrusted with the closing event of the entire festival, has always been an original and refined interpreter.<\/p>\n

The Kimono \u00e0 porter fashion show at Palazzo Nani, home of the Radisson Hotel, serves as the ideal seal of an edition more than ever focused on sustainability themes<\/strong>, while Antonia Sautter, fresh from the success of the Dreaming in Azur charity show in protection of the oceans in collaboration with Venetian Arts Foundation and Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation, confirms the green soul underlying the new collection.<\/p>\n

“We are accustomed to thinking of Venice’s beauty as something concerning its architecture and monuments, but Venice is also the landscape encounter between land and sea<\/strong>, a marvel that we Venetians always have before our eyes,<\/em>” declares Antonia Sautter. “After the experience of Dreaming in Azur, the scenic tableau narrative of the magnificence and fragility of our oceans in collaboration with my Il Ballo del Doge cast, I wanted to express the idea of valorization and safeguarding of nature also in the sartorial realm, translating the natural beauty of my city into everyday garments and accessories, to promote a broader message of sustainability.”<\/em><\/p>\n

The precious silk velvets with which Antonia Sautter creates her contemporary and unisex-cut kimonos are dyed for the occasion in delicate floral notes, counterbalanced by a lush palette of greens and marine-inspired patterns, on turquoise or opalescent sea-blue backgrounds. The Natural Azur collection ensemble is completed by accessories: scarves, bags with bamboo wood handles, foulards, slippers, and cushions. <\/p>\n

Palazzo Nani in Venice<\/h3>\n

The collection, presented to the Radisson Hotel<\/a> audience in an intimate manner, “less fashion show and more 1950s-style Roman haute couture salon<\/em>,” will be available on the designer’s e-commerce from November 3, 2022.<\/p>\n

The Renaissance Palazzo Nani<\/strong>, belonging to the Nani Mocenigo family, was home to a rich collection of Roman-era sculptures and owes its majesty to the sculptor Alessandro Vittoria<\/strong> (1525-1608). The large frescoed and finely decorated halls of the two noble floors overlook Rio de Cannaregio on one side and a beautiful internal garden on the other. A cocktail bar and restaurant complete the offering for guests and visitors of the Radisson hotel in Venice. <\/p>\n
