High fashion, increasingly an artistic expression, lights up Venice with runway shows by major brands and Made in Venice fashion, which takes the runway at Hotel Excelsior with Venice Fashion Week.<\/h2>\n

Fashion is the common thread of this summer in Venice<\/strong>: after the first runway shows by major brands, it is time for Made in Venice fashion, which takes the runway at Hotel Excelsior with Venice Fashion Week on Thursday, July 29<\/strong>. Seven innovative and sustainable brands present collections combining art, craftsmanship, creative reuse, and innovation. <\/p>\n

The first to believe in the iconic charm of the beaches of Venice Lido was Karl Lagerfeld<\/strong> with the Chanel Cruise 2010<\/strong><\/em> collection dedicated to Marchesa Casati, followed by Rick Owens<\/strong>, who also has a home in Venice, who presented his Menswear Spring\/Summer 2022<\/em> by the sea. <\/p>\n

For <\/em>Yves Saint Laurent<\/strong> on the island of Certosa, creative director Anthony Vaccarello<\/strong> commissioned Doug Aitken<\/strong> to create an inclusive work that connects nature to fashion and art: Green Lens<\/strong>, on view until July 30.<\/p>\n

The most followed and photographed media event of 2021 is the Valentino Des Ateliers<\/strong> runway show. Creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli<\/strong> created a unique artistic experience at the Gaggiandre, symbol of the Arsenale and the Venice Biennale. <\/p>\n

Awaiting the arrival of Dolce<\/strong> & Gabbana<\/strong> and Alberta Ferretti<\/strong>, seven innovative and sustainable brands tell the story of Venice and its essence of craftsmanship, creativity, design, and fashion: Artisan Splendor Between Design and Sustainability<\/strong> is the final appointment, Thursday, July 29, with the summer Venice Fashion Week<\/strong> at Hotel Excelsior.<\/p>\n

Glamour in Venice<\/h3>\n

Venice Fashion Week envisions a future with Venice as a protagonist of international high fashion<\/a>. On Friday July 29, curated by Laura Scarpa, Lorenzo Cinotti, and Jacopo Casotto<\/strong> of Venezia da Vivere, and with sound design by Enrico Coniglio<\/strong>, Made in Venice brands take the runway, having oriented their production and entrepreneurial style in the name of sustainability<\/span>: <\/p>\n

Alessandra Micolucci<\/strong>, a Venetian Vogue Talent, creates garments with natural and sustainable fabrics and colors;<\/p>\n

Gaiofatto<\/strong>, the brand of young designer Michela Gaiofatto<\/strong>, offers contemporary garments handmade with precious fabrics;<\/p>\n

L\u00e0 Fuori<\/strong>, the international brand dedicated to bringing together artisans from around the world, presents a collection created by women artisans from Murano.<\/p>\n

Designer and artist Francesca Venuti<\/strong> creates her silk garments with unique volumes and geometries, thanks to the hand-pleating technique using steam, for her brand (mine de rien)<\/strong>, a tribute to artist Mariano Fortuny;<\/p>\n

Alessandra Defranza<\/strong> has created a collection of fabrics in seaweed, mint, lyocell, and banana for the Tabinotabi<\/strong> project, a sustainable fashion collection with contemporary lines;<\/p>\n

The Vita di Vetro<\/strong> silk scarves, made with prints from Murano glass tiles, are a project by the Moretti sisters<\/strong>, daughters of artisans, to pay tribute to Venice’s 1,600 years with the unique colors of murrine, an icon of Murano design.<\/p>\n

The bags by Venetian designer Carla Plessi<\/strong>, works of art created with precious materials and high-quality finishes, combined with lightness and irony.<\/p>\n

The event, with the valuable collaboration of Crisam Professional Make-up Academy<\/a>, will take place in person with a limited number of guests, and will be broadcast digitally<\/strong> on the Instagram channels of @veneziadavivere<\/a> and @venicefashionweek<\/a>.<\/p>\n
