Summer 2021, Hotel Excelsior at Venice Lido is the place to be: with three Venice Fashion Week events presenting the glamour of cinema and the excellence of Venetian craftsmanship.<\/h2>\n

Hotel Excelsior is the place to be<\/strong>: with Venezia da Vivere presents Fine Craftsmanship Club<\/strong>, three summer evenings dedicated to Venetian fashion, design, and craftsmanship. The events are part of the Venice Fashion Week – Summer Edition<\/strong> program, the celebrations of the 1600th anniversary of the City of Venice, and anticipate the appointments of the <\/span>2021 Film Festival<\/b>.<\/p>\n

Alessio Lazazzera<\/b>, general manager of Hotel Excelsior, has chosen to focus on the value of Venetian craftsmanship to create a program of events that present the hotel’s new direction, and to do so he has chosen Venezia da Vivere<\/span>. Eighteen brands tell stories of talent<\/b> and mastery among precious fabrics, hand-painted silks, unique creations between tailoring and design. <\/span> <\/p>\n

A discussion on the future of craftsmanship with Stefano Micelli, Lorenzo Cinotti, and Laura Scarpa<\/strong>, and a cocktail <\/span>with the entrepreneurs and designers of Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua, Orsoni Venezia 1888, Martina Vidal Venezia, and Lunardelli Venezia.<\/p>\n

Friday, July 16<\/strong> with the event The New Artisan Luxury<\/strong> we will discover the latest creations by BVL Venezia, Franco Puppato, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Kuhn Ferruzzi, Micromega, Salvadori Diamond Atelier, Teo d’Amar, and Un\u00fczer.<\/p>\n

Artisan Splendor between Design and Sustainability <\/strong>will take place Thursday, July 29<\/strong> with Alessandra Micolucci, Carla Plessi, Gaiofatto, L\u00e0 Fuori, (mine de rien), Tabinotabi, and Vita di Vetro.<\/p>\n

The events, in partnership with Crisam Professional Make-up Academy <\/strong>and with sound design by Venetian composer and sound artist Enrico Coniglio<\/strong>, take place in the spectacular Stucco Hall where the restaurant scene with Robert De Niro and the very young Elizabeth McGovern was set in Sergio Leone’s film Once Upon a Time in America<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hotel Excelsior is a Moorish-style gem that majestically overlooks the beach of Venice Lido. It is the place where it all began: on its inauguration day, July 21, 1908, it is said that 30,000 Venetians and more than 3,000 guests from around the world attended. <\/p>\n

Theater of Belle \u00c9poque splendor, in 1932 it hosted the first <\/span>Venice Film Festival<\/b>. Since then, the Excelsior has continued to welcome divas and directors on the iconic Terrace overlooking the sea, by the pool, and at evenings at the Blue Bar. <\/span>When at the end of summer the splendor of Hollywood moves to the Lido for the festival, its dock becomes a glamorous runway leading into the heart of the Hotel and continuing to the beach. <\/p>\n

An unmissable ritual is inaugurating the red carpet on the sea: the festival’s godmother opens the photocalls with photographers right from the immortal beach of Hotel Excelsior, and famous are the photos such as that of Brigitte Bardot, exhibited until January 9, 2022 at Casa dei Tre Oci, in the retrospective Mario De Biasi. Fashion is an unmissable appointment at the Excelsior: world cinema stars wear international brands and Venetian craftsmanship signatures on the red carpet, in a continuous dialogue between tradition and innovation.<\/p>\n

It is always Hotel Excelsior at the Lido that serves as the perfect location for events such as the Chanel<\/strong> Cruise 2010 fashion show commissioned by Karl Lagerfeld and inspired by the style of Marchioness Luisa Casati<\/strong>, who in Venice celebrated the splendors of the Belle \u00c9poque.<\/p>\n
