The Narcissus of the Venetians by Mattia Berto in the garden of Palazzo Nani Bernardo for Teatro Stabile Veneto<\/h2>\n

Sunday, December 19, 2021<\/strong>, Palazzo Nani Bernardo<\/strong><\/a> becomes the open-air stage for the first public presentation of Mutaforma nelle Mani di Ovidio<\/em>, the concluding performance of the theater workshop directed by Mattia Berto<\/strong>.
\nA free admission event with mandatory reservation (all details below).<\/p>\n

Forty Venetian citizen-performers take the stage for 01 Narciso – Catturare l’amore<\/strong><\/a> in the act of Echo and Narcissus<\/strong>, one of the most renowned works by the Roman poet Ovid.<\/p>\n

The myth (Roman version) tells the story of a beautiful young hunter, son of a nymph and a river deity. The prophecy states that only by not discovering his own image will his life be long. But one day, rejecting the attentions of the nymph Echo, as punishment and by the hand of the goddess Nemesis, the young man sees his reflection on a water surface for the first time and immediately falls hopelessly in love with himself, so much so that he falls into the water and drowns. His body then transforms into a yellow, fragrant flower that will take the name Narcissus. <\/p>\n

Berto’s project begins with a reflection on the mythology connected to Venice and channeled into its future as a sustainable city. The question of vanity, hedonism, and love relates to the theme of power, transformation, and fading beauty. <\/p>\n

Thus, nature, transformed in response to climate change, is the stage for an experiential performance, where spectators are part of the narrative<\/strong>, free to move and choose their own path within the garden of Palazzo Nani Bernardo, one of Venice’s many private green hearts restored to its splendor after the acqua granda<\/em> of November 2019 thanks to the intervention of Wigwam Club Giardini Storici Venezia<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Sunday, December 19, 2021 is the first public and free performance of Mutaforma nelle Mani di Ovidio<\/em>, the theater of citizenship workshop directed by Mattia Berto, at the garden of Palazzo Nani Bernardo in Calle San Bernardo 3198, Venice.<\/p>\n

Reservation is mandatory at laboratori.teatrogoldoni@teatrostabileveneto.it<\/a> with specification of the performance time: 11, 12, 14, and 15.<\/p>\n

Duration 30 minutes for 20 spectators.<\/p>\n
