Ph Laura Scarpa \" loading=\"lazy\" \/><span class=\"rgg-caption-container\"><span class=\"rgg-caption\"><span class=\"rgg-inner-caption\">Homo Faber 2026, Come Again Venice Es Devlin, Giovanni Bonotto. \nPh Laura Scarpa<\/span><\/span><\/span>            <\/a>\n            <\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>Homo Faber 2026: An Island of Light<\/h2>\n<p><strong>September 1\u201330<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Giorgio Cini Foundation<\/strong>, on the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, hosts the fourth edition of <em>Homo Faber: An Island of Light<\/em>, organized by the <strong>Michelangelo Foundation for Creativity and Craftsmanship<\/strong> and the <strong>Cologni Foundation for the M\u00e9tiers d&#8217;Art<\/strong>, under the artistic direction of <strong>Es Devlin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Fifteen installations<\/strong> across the park and the monumental spaces of the Cini Foundation connect light, materials, and manual labor. Artisans from various countries present works, tools, and techniques, demonstrating the production phases live. <\/p>\n<p>We were there. Here are the installations that struck us most: <\/p>\n<p><strong>A Full Moon Rising<\/strong>: a moon composed of over 90 Moon Jars, Korean moon vases, rises and sets in the water of the Piscina Gandini.<\/p>\n<p><strong>An Atelier Alive<\/strong> is an active workshop, with international artisans working in front of the public. We spoke with Pei Li, a paper artist from Singapore. <\/p>\n<p><strong>A Great Turning<\/strong>: water, light, chants, and a large mirroring kinetic structure in the Palladian Cloister.<\/p>\n<p><strong>A Luminous Ark<\/strong> is the flight of large white birds from the Venice Lagoon, designed by Es Devlin and created by Wen Qiuwen.<\/p>\n<p><b>A Feast of Light<\/b>, in the Palladian Refectory, is a grand banquet of ceramics, glass, and white textiles on a large wooden table. Behind the screen, The Wedding Feast at Cana by Paolo Veronese. <\/p>\n<p><b>A Rainbow of Forms<\/b>, a triumph of colors and materials, mirrors that infinitely multiply the colors of the rainbow, and a large carpet inspired by Goethe&#8217;s theory of colors, designed by Es Devlin.<\/p>\n<p><b>Come Home Again Venice<\/b> is a large tapestry featuring an animal ecosystem, designed by Es Devlin and produced by <b>Bonotto<\/b>, using wool yarns and recycled plastic filaments.<\/p>\n<p><em>Homo Faber is open daily from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. CaCO3 has worked since 2006 on mosaic as a contemporary language, also through engagement with conservation and restoration. <\/p>\n<p><em>The exhibition can be visited free of charge from Monday to Friday, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM. <strong>Nin\u00e0 911<\/strong> is born, the new project by <strong>Martina and Sergio Vidal<\/strong> in the atelier&#8217;s garden.<\/p>\n<p>A <strong>designer wine bar and bistro<\/strong> expands the world built by the Vidal family in Burano: a place open to the public where <strong>craftsmanship, art, cuisine, and island life<\/strong> are part of the same project.<\/p>\n<p>The name is Her presence adds to the Venetian map of contemporary craftsmanship <strong>a research on textiles that moves between art, clothing, and installation<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>In 2026, Revier was <a href=\"https:\/\/yaliglass.com\/pages\/casa-yali-gallery\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">the artist-in-residence at <strong>Casa Yali<\/strong><\/a>, where she developed a new body of <strong>work starting from the textile history and trade routes of Venice<\/strong>. The research culminated in the solo exhibition <em>The Blue of Distance<\/em>, curated by <strong>Marina Marques<\/strong> at Casa Yali, and then in the residency in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/amyrevier\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener nofollow\">Dorsoduro<\/a> which is still ongoing. She also works with terrazzo, artisanal glass, and various materials, bringing mosaic toward objects, surfaces, architecture, and design. <\/p>\n<p>From her Venetian studio, she creates sculptures, panels, seating, and commissioned projects.
