The 1950s fashion of Banco Lotto n. 10 walks the catwalk at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi for Venice Fashion Week: sartorial skills that create social integration

Models of the ’50s, polka dot skirts and blouses, a colourful and light sartorial fashion: it is the fashion show of Banco Lotto n.10 in Venice, unfolding through the spaces of T Fondaco dei Tedeschi on Friday, October 19th at 7pm for Venice Fashion Week.

Rehabilitation and reintegration are the primary objectives of the Il Cerchio Onlus Cooperative, which in 2003 founded Banco Lotto n.10, the Women’s Detention Home sartorial laboratory on the Giudecca Island.

During the Venice Fashion Week, the Banco Lotto n.10 collection will walk the catwalk at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi with the event Get dressed, let’s go out.

Strictly hand cut and finished with extreme precision, the clothes and accessories are inspired by the fashion of the Fifties – round skirts, polka dots, bodices and tailored jackets – are made of high quality materials including Rubelli fabrics and a choice of fresh colours to give a feeling of lightness.

Sartorial skills become a project for professional reintegration

The sartorial activity involves six women prisoners, coordinated by two external experts who deal with the training of the personnel and the creative and planning aspect. A special area of the prison has become a workshop of creative craftsmanship where women can learn the art of cutting and sewing.

The idea behind the project and the quality of the items produced has allowed Banco Lotto n. 10 to collaborate with very important organizations such as La Fenice Theater, La Biennale di Venezia, Veneto Region, Tessuti Rubelli, Tessitura Bevilacqua, Cini Foundation, Hotel Molino Stucky Hilton, T Fondaco dei Tedeschi- Get dressed, let’s go out 2017, GAA Foundation-Venice Design 2018 .

Since 2013 the Venice Biennale has offered the brand a space at the Lido during the period of the Film Festival, where a Temporary Shop has been set up.

All items made by Banco Lotto n. 10 are for sale at Castello in Salizada Sant’Antonin, a few steps from San Marco square. The boutique and the tailor shop take their name from Lotto game stand previously located in their premises.

Since its origin, T Fondaco dei Tedeschi is a place of trade exchange open to the world

T Fondaco dei Tedeschi hosts the fashion show of garments made by the brand Banco Lotto n. 10 and becomes the carrier of a strong message: creativity, craftsmanship and handicraft work are important values that overcome barriers.

Since its origins a place of commercial exchange and meeting hub of different cultures, T Fondaco reinforces on this occasion the power of the Italian sartorial traditions and culture; a group of women, who found in fashion a new social integration and recovery tool, become the stars of this very special evening.

Banco Lotto n. 10 participates in Venice Fashion Week 2018 – the fashion week in Venice – with a fashion show on October 19th at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi at 7pm.
