From June 27 to 29, classic sailing yachts return to the lagoon with the Principality of Monaco Trophy
The most beautiful historic sailing yachts from across Europe return to sail the lagoon for the 12th edition of the Principality of Monaco Trophy, celebrating the culture of classic sailing and naval craftsmanship, central elements of Venice’s maritime tradition.
Three days of gatherings, cocktails, and regattas bring together yacht owners, sailors, and enthusiasts at the Arsenale di Venezia starting Friday. Created to promote Monaco’s historic excellence in nautical sports, the Trophy is now an important instrument for strengthening ties between Venice and the Principality of Monaco.
After the initial celebrations on Friday at the Arsenale, the regattas will take place in the waters off the Lido di Venezia, in the permanent regatta course and at sea, on Saturday, June 28 at 1 PM and Sunday, June 29 at 1 PM.
The public event will be at 11 AM on Sunday, June 28, when from San Marco, from Riva Schiavoni, and from the water, it will be possible to admire the historic sails parading in the San Marco Basin. The awards ceremony will be held on Sunday at the Arsenale di Venezia.
On Saturday evening, the 100th anniversary of the Venetian Rotary Club will be celebrated, which has offered a special prize and a donation to the Princesse Charlène of Monaco Foundation, committed for years to drowning prevention worldwide.
The Trophy is organized by the Yacht Club Venezia and promoted by the Consulate of the Principality of Monaco in Venice, with sporting direction by Mirko Sguario, president of Yacht Club Venezia and patron of the Venice Hospitality Challenge.
