The Legendary Jim Dine in a Legendary Palace
Jim Dine, American painter, sculptor, and poet, presents 50 works from the 1980s to the present in Venice at Palazzo Rocca Contarini Corfù, on the Grand Canal. The dog in the title refers to a poem written by the artist in 2023. The exhibition is a collateral event of the Biennale Arte 2024.
Hearts, self-portraits, Venuses, and Pinocchios, previously unseen drawings, paintings, and sculptures in dialogue with each other and with works from the 1980s to the present, and an outdoor installation of monumental site-specific sculptures, conceived to be exhibited in a 14th-century palace on the Grand Canal, the ancient Palazzo Rocca Contarini Corfù, among the finest examples of Venetian Gothic and 17th-century architecture, built by the Contarini family, which gave Venice eight doges and forty-four Procurators of St. Mark.

Armando Testa at Ca’ Pesaro
Ca’ Pesaro – Galleria Internazionale d’Arte Moderna inaugurates the new 2024 exhibition season with a major exhibition dedicated to Armando Testa (1917-1992). Already present in the Venetian civic collections since December 2022 with 17 works, the brilliant Piedmontese creative will be at the center of a monographic exhibition that will allow visitors to discover and rediscover previously unseen aspects of his production.
Curated by Gemma de Angelis Testa, Tim Marlow, Elisabetta Barisoni, in collaboration with Galleria Continua and TestaperTesta.
A Music Icon, Brian Eno, Plays with Light
From April 18, discover the glow of light reflected on water with Brian Eno. Gibigiane, on the island of Giudecca.
Galleria Michela Rizzo presents the third solo exhibition by Brian Eno, Golden Lion at the Biennale Musica, one of the most influential thinkers, artists, and composers of our time.
Eno collaborated with Giovanni Bonotto, co-founder with Chiara Casarin of A Collection, for the creation of three tapestries inspired by works from the 1990s.

Armonia Metis, the Galerie Negropontes Exhibition in Carlo Scarpa’s House
In the spaces designed by Carlo Scarpa, the Parisian gallery presents Armonia Metis, a conversation between contemporary artists and the space, ever-changing thanks to Scarpa’s ability to incorporate elements of water and light into his interiors. As at the Fondazione Querini Stampalia, water is brought into the house, becoming part of the visual and sonic effect, together with the incredible reflections—the gibigiana—of light entering from the curve of the Grand Canal.
Installed on the two floors of Palazzina Masieri, transformed with Studio Barman Architects into a research center for art and architecture through a partnership with the Fondazione Masieri and the IUAV University Institute of Venice, the exhibition presents: on the ground floor, the gallery’s artists, Ulrika Liljedahl, Erwan Boulloud, Perrin & Perrin, Mauro Mori, Benjamin Pouranges, and Étienne Moyat; and on the first floor, glass sculptures by the creative duo Perrin and Perrin, which interact with contemporary works by the artist Mircea Cantor.

Greenhouse: The National Pavilion of Portugal Is a Garden for Dialogue
“Creole” understood as the identity of people transplanted from their place of birth to work in a state of slavery: it represents Portugal at the Venice Biennale. The Creole Garden, which the artists and curators Monica de Miranda, Sonia Vaz Borges, and Vania Gala will create at Palazzo Franchetti, will be a corner of biodiversity, political action and dialogue, and a tool for decolonization.
The garden will host botanical species native to various African countries, which will grow in the monumental spaces of the palace throughout the exhibition period, with a sound installation, sculptures, dances and performances, workshops, and events.

Art Against War at the Church of San Samuele: Beati Pacifici
The exhibition Beati Pacifici: The Disasters of War and the Hope for International Peace is curated by W. Bruce C. Bailey, Bailey Collection, and brings together over 200 works by great artists such as Francisco Goya, Otto Dix, and contemporary masters like Marlene Dumas and Peter Doig in the evocative space of the Church of San Samuele, opposite Palazzo Grassi.
The Canadian collector has selected works against war from his collection for Venice, starting with The Disasters of War (1810-1820) by Francisco Goya, the series of 83 prints on the horrors following the occupation of Spain by Napoleon, which we will see alongside Jacques Callot’s 1633 etchings Miseries of War, Der Krieg by Otto Dix, and others, up to an original poem by Margaret Atwood.

The Monumental Paintings of Maria Kreyn in an Anglican Church
Ministry of Nomads Art Foundation presents Chronos, by Maria Kreyn, organized by Maria Vega and MoN Art Foundation, at the Anglican Church of St. George. Invoking the Orphic mythology of the cosmic egg, the exhibition welcomes viewers into an immersive meditation on the materiality of time.

FORTUNY + CHAHAN
Fortuny and Chahan Minassian collaborate to create a new design destination on the island of Giudecca.
On the occasion of Biennale Arte 2024, the Venetian textile and design house, created by Mariano Fortuny y Madrazo in 1921, collaborates with designer Chahan Minassian to transform the former residence of Countess Gozzi, adjacent to the Fortuny Factory, into an international contemporary design destination.
The legendary Fortuny fabrics are handcrafted in the factory founded by the Spanish artist and inventor. The new collaboration with interior designer Chahan Minassian, who has long been a Venetian, demonstrates the maison’s commitment to carrying its legacy into the future with a contemporary perspective.

Art Explora Festival
In Venice from April 17 to 23, a museum ship will dock at Riva dei Sette Martiri and welcome visitors for an immersive exhibition in collaboration with the Louvre, events, and encounters.
Until autumn 2026, the festival will visit 15 Mediterranean countries, and the ship will be adorned with its large sails designed by Laure Prouvost.
From 10 AM to 7 PM, free admission with reservation.
