Venice Biennale: from August 2020 a new exhibition with events, films and performances of all disciplines – art, architecture, dance, music, theater and cinema
All the disciplines and all the curators of the Venice Biennale, art, architecture, dance, music, theater and cinema, come together in Venice with events and performances live from August 29 until the end of the year at the Central Pavilion and the Giardini for an exhibition that will see all the arts in dialogue and bring to Venice a new and surprising artistic season.
In the spirit of dialogue between the arts, for the first time the exhibition will be collectively curated by all the Artistic Directors of the Sectors: Cecilia Alemani (Art), Alberto Barbera (Cinema), Marie Chouinard (Dance), Ivan Fedele (Music), Antonio Latella (Theater), Hashim Sarkis (Architecture).
Live performances, performances and an arena for films
An arena for outdoor film screenings will be set up, which will also include the period of the International Film Festival (September 2-12).
At the Giardini and Arsenale there will be activities, live performances and performances by young artists from Biennale College of the Dance, Music and Theater Sectors, and guided tours on the history of the Pavilions, the Giardini and the Arsenale will be organized.
The detailed program will be announced soon. With these and other initiatives, curated in collaboration with the Director of Biennale Architettura, Hashim Sarkis, the Biennale aims to strengthen Venice’s cultural offering in 2020, following the difficult decision, made in concert with the 58 participating countries, to postpone the Biennale Architettura to 2021, originally scheduled from August 29 to November 29.
