GAS is for the lovers of the blue canvas. The Jeanswear has never been so innovative and above it is all 100% Made in Italy
A contemporary outfit that exceeds trends expressing one’s personality to the utmost: it is the GAS denim, the key element of all its collections, loved by an international and cosmopolitan public. ESSENSUAL is the word that summarizes the evolution of the brand: essentiality and sensuality, passion, warmth and internationality, together with the all time GAS values: positivity, freshness and authenticity.
GAS in Venice has its Flagship Store in Calle del Lovo, near the Goldoni Theatre, created according to a “sartorial” concept to enhance the historical and architectural context of Venice: the facade of the store remained the original one of the building while the upper floor gallery gives a special touch to it highlighting its uniqueness; vintage furnishings are in fact combined with contemporary elements such as the Denim Icon presenting a new interpretation of the materials.
In connection with the final evening of the Venice Fashion Night on October 28th 2017, Gas offers a very important artistic entertainment in collaboration with the International Cultural Association Atelier 3 + 10, curated by Prof. Saverio Simi de Burgis of the Academy of Fine Arts of Venice.
The space of the GAS Store in Venice is the ideal setting for some of the art works of the sculptors and painters of the Association – which are enlivened with the insertion and assembly of the denim fabric, which is the soul and DNA of GAS.
The project includes the artists: Zhongqi Geng (China-Italy), Marija Markovic (Italy-Serbia), Giovanni Pinosio (Italy) and Luana Segato (Italy). Geng, Markovic and Pinosio are three sculptors, who have completed their artistic training at the Academy of Venice and are currently sharing their professional work inside the Atelier 3 + 10 in Mestre.
Zhongqi Geng especially produces art works in terracotta, but also in plaster and wood. For the occasion, he conceived a series of clay heads with denim details that will be placed on the shelves in the store interacting with the GAS collections. The heads resembles the many faces of young and old people that you can meet in the streets of the city. Marija Markovic has created a large, strongly dynamic wooden sculpture, which looks about to wear the brand’s garments. Giovanni Pinosio, who is carrying out a research in contrast to the obvious heaviness of the sculpture, has created light aerial sculptures in which the iron wire intersects with the denim canvas that, with movements and attitudes, interacts with the public. Finally, Luana Segato, trained as a painter, is an artist with a major interest in fabrics. On this occasion she reused the denim to create rugs and waterfalls, embellished with full colours, which either come down from above or remain suspended intertwining in unprecedented coverings.
To underline the interaction and collaboration between the two companies, GAS and Atelier 3 + 10 will offer to the guests a business card, symbol of the evening, consisting of a piece of denim fabric with the company logo, sewn to the artistic association logo printed on fabric.
Event: Saturday 28th October from 6.30pm to 9.30pm
