Lunardelli Venice
Hidden in the foundations of the Venetian narrow streets and buildings, the wood supports Venice, marks the waterways throughout the lagoon, offers docking for boats and it also was the raw material for the great seafaring vocation of the Serenissima. Ductile and alive, it is the ideal companion for a journey in search of the perfect shape.
Lunardelli Venice was born from the experience of Lunardelli est. 1967, an historical company specialized in woodworking: here the very young Angelo Lunardelli made his first experiences working in buildings of a great historical value.
The new brand produces now objects that express the soul of Venice and the high quality of the Italian craftsmanship, in an evolved technological and commercial context.
Historical know-how combines wood with other noble materials, while the tradition of the highest quality craftsmanship is reinterpreted by the contemporary approach of the designers and artisans, called to experiment with the digital technologies paying always attention to sustainability.
Believing in the principles of sustainability and ecology that guided their previous experiences, the founders of Lunardelli Venezia pay attention to all the environmental aspects at every stage of their production process.

Le Fórcole
One of the craft activities necessary for the life of Venice since its origins has been the one of the remèr: oars builders have always been indispensable to the everyday life of a city born on water. To move on the water, the oar rests on the fórcola, which from a working tool has now become an admirable sculpture of a thousand forms.
Builders of fórcole and remèri and custodians of this ancient art are Saverio Pastor, Giuseppe Carli, the king of fórcole, Gino Fossetta, the wizard of the oars. Each piece is unique, and each object is made with the customers in mind: through their work and their laboratory Le fórcole keep alive the traditions inherited from the masters.

Fallani Venice
The industrial spaces in Venice are magical; their walls tell the story of the city’s artisan. Fallani artistic screen-printing laboratory, created in 1968 by Fiorenzo Fallani is at Fondamente Nuove.
Serigraphy – from the Latin “seri” (silk) and from the Greek “gràphein” (to write) – consists in passing the color through the fabric and printing on any material and with any ink. A great expressive technique, fully versatile, particularly suitable for pop art.
In 1970 Fiorenzo directed the Experimental Laboratory of the Italian Pavilion of the XXXV Venice Art Biennale and since 1978 he has been holding the chair of Serigraphy at the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, where he taught until 1992. Since then, for dozens of international artists his laboratory has been a place to experiment new pathways, and Fiorenzo Fallani and his son Gianpaolo has been the ideal interpreters to connect with.
Chronicles from a submerged city is a solidarity initiative born from the idea of Andrea Da Villa and Chiara Masiero Sgrinzatto to support Venetian trades after the high tide of 12 November.
Important illustrators such as Bruno Bozzetto, Ale Giorgini, Riccardo Guasco, Franco Matticchio, Andy Rementer, Jacopo Rosati, Guido Scarabottolo, Lucio Schiavon and Olimpia Zagnoli have created and donated graphics representing Venice.
The graphics are available to pre-order on fallanivenezia.bigcartel.com in a limited edition of 50 copies, numbered and signed by the artists. They can be purchased individually or by folder.
The two photos of the screen printing are by Laila Pozzo and Stefano Maniero.

Mario Berta Battiloro
The processing of gold leaves is an ancient art that was taken to the lagoon from Byzantium. Gold is worked with heavy hammers with about 30 thousand hammer blows. Only if the beating takes place by hand the gold atoms do not change, and so after about eight hours of work, the gold leaf is obtained.
Maestro Marino Menegazzo is the last goldsmith in the lagoon and his company Mario Berta Battiloro carries on the ancient family craft that began back in 1926 in their historic artisan workshop.
