Fashion shows return to Venice with Venice Fashion Week, featuring the New York-based brand Là Fuori and the Road to Barmer collection: sustainable fashion and international craftsmanship
September 2020 in Venice: a recovery full of events and initiatives, including the Biennale, The Venice Glass Week, the Film Festival, and Venice Fashion Week, which presents the New York fashion brand Là Fuori with the Road to Barmer project. The fashion show on the island of Giudecca is the first live event of 2020 for Venice Fashion Week.
For the first time in Italy, the brand chooses Venice as the location to present its new women’s fashion collection inspired by a journey through the Indian land of Rajasthan, held in an evocative private garden in Giudecca.
The project is multifaceted and spans three days:
Friday, September 11, from 6 PM to 10 PM for the collection presentation with a fashion show that, for the safety of the guests, will be held twice on the same evening: at 6 PM and 8 PM. Followed by a fashion cocktail and music in the garden;
Saturday, September 12, from 1 PM to 4 PM: a round table on craftsmanship, innovation, and sustainability;
Sunday, September 13, from 10 AM to 9 PM: the atelier is open to discover the project and the collection.
Founded in 2019 in New York, Là Fuori is described by its two young founders as a lifestyle brand aimed at creating a community of “nomadic and creative hearts” committed to the promotion and inclusion of artisanal textile cultures around the world.
Evocative ruins restored to their former glory, battle-scarred fortresses, breathtaking sand dunes, and an elegant, proud beauty are the inspirations from the lands of India for the new collection presented by Là Fuori in Venice.
A women’s sartorial journey created with the support of female artisans from Rajasthan. Every detail is carefully conceived and handmade; prints are created with organic dyes on innovative silks, enriched with precious finishes. The packaging is also reusable, reducing the fashion industry’s impact on water and the environment.
The Venetian appointment with Road to Barmer is an opportunity to immerse oneself in a true sensory journey of empathy, rediscovering values and traditions.
