Sustainable Fashion Days in Venice
Venice Fashion Week is committed to promoting craftsmanship as a value for the future of the planet. We have analyzed the Veneto region as an ecosystem of sustainable enterprises starting in 2018 with the conference Make it last, organized as part of Venice Fashion Week, in 2019 with the Sustainable Fashion Day organized with the British Consulate, in the roundtable Ecosistema Venezia in 2021, and with Alto Artigianato Venezia in 2022, a conference organized in partnership with Homo Faber on the island of San Giorgio.
In 2023, the conference The True Colours of Fashion was held with some of the most important Italian experts in sustainability, environment, and ethical labor: Marina Spadafora, ambassador of ethical fashion worldwide, lecturer and Italian national coordinator of Fashion Revolution Italia, Sara Sozzani Maino – Educational and Scouting Advisor of Vogue Italia and Creative Director of Fondazione Sozzani, International Brand Ambassador for Camera della Moda, and Matteo Ward – activist and CEO of Wråd, a creative agency that supports companies in their journey toward sustainability. From the textile industry world, Rodolfo Bevilacqua of Tessitura Luigi Bevilacqua and Giovanni Bonotto, creative director of Bonotto and founder of the “Fabbrica Lenta,” shared their inspirations and achievements.
