Inspired by the theme of the Architecture Biennale, two exhibitions at #AtelierLunardelli dedicated to design and architecture, and an exhibition path that tells the story of Venice
Once a carpentry workshop and now a laboratory for design and cultural exchange, an exhibition space, and an artisan boutique: Atelier Lunardelli is one of those Venetian places where you can meet emerging designers, contemporary artists, and master artisans over a cocktail, a talk, or a fashion presentation. A living atelier, particularly during the city’s most intense moments such as Homo Faber In Città or the Biennale openings, when it transforms into a vibrant space for dialogue between artisanal knowledge and contemporary languages.
On the occasion of the Architecture Biennale 2025, the Lunardelli gallery is open to welcome artists, designers, and the public with #AtelierLunardelli, a series of exhibitions and meetings dedicated to design and architecture, and an exhibition path that tells the story of Venice and its transposition into forms, materials, and signs.
On display:
- Storie d’Acqua. A sentimental guide to Venice written on mooring posts, an exhibition by Jacopo Ascari
- The Architettura and Laguna collections by Lunardelli
- The new Giacometa collection by designer Carla Plessi, bags inspired by a secret Venice created with ‘manisoni’, artisanal elements from gondolas.

Storie d’Acqua. A sentimental guide to Venice written on mooring posts

Opening: Tuesday, May 6, 6:00 PM, by invitation
Jacopo Ascari’s exhibition tells the story of Venice through drawing and material. Thirty works created on ‘briccola’ wood, a symbolic material of the city, become the medium for a sentimental guide to Venice—a visual narrative that intertwines art, architecture, and craftsmanship.
The exhibition, curated by Venezia da Vivere, is a tribute to the Venetian locations where Lunardelli has contributed its design and artisanal expertise: Ca’ Giustinian, headquarters of the Biennale; the Teatrino di Palazzo Grassi designed by Tadao Ando; the iconic Hotel Danieli; and the new Hotel Violino d’Oro, where every furnishing element was custom-designed by master artisans.
“I am happy to collaborate with Lunardelli and narrate the story of this Venetian family,” says Jacopo Ascari, “who, through artisanal excellence, has come to leave its mark, generation after generation, on so many of the places that make Venice the greatest city in the world.”

The new Giacometa collection by designer Carla Plessi
From May 5 to June 2, 2025

Giacometa is the new artisanal bag project by designer Carla Plessi, a tribute to Giacomo Casanova where sensuality and playfulness are the key to interpreting a mysterious Venice.
For the Venetian designer, whose creations accompany women living and working in the art world, the bag is a narrative. Following the collections of diary-bags that recount personal travels and experiences, Giacometa is now born—an object of identity affirmation inspired by an element of the Venetian gondola, the ‘Manisone’.
Venice seen from the water: from this perspective, the architecture is more majestic, and the gondola reveals details with hidden meanings: the shining irons, the reflections, the light of the velvets, the colors, and the ‘manisoni’. These latter elements become a signature, the center of the collection: transformed into totems and handles, they blend artisanal gesture and vision.
