Connected, open, creative: AstaZoom is a digital design auction and an event to stay connected that opens the homes of Venetian artisans. It is the CaseAperte project by Tiziana Ceschin and Silvia Rossi.
To help discover and support artisans, connect people, and give rise to projects in Venice. This is the CaseAperte project by Tiziana Ceschin and Silvia Rossi, which begins Saturday, December 12 at 6 PM with AstaZoom and with an upgrade consistent with the current moment: meetings take place online, on Zoom.
The CaseAperte project opens the doors of the homes of three Venetian designers who display their products and share their stories online, thanks to the internet and new shared communication platforms such as Zoom. A private initiative in support of craftsmanship in Venice. AstaZoom is an opportunity to enrich the Christmas tree with precious handmade unique objects, to discover the talent of young artists, to meet friends from all over the world, exchange greetings, and share creativity.

The artisans of the first AstaZoom
The selected artists with their works for the first event are:
Sebastiano Michielon, who for the brand NAMINAMY handcrafts unique bags created with natural dyes and surplus leather. His creations are unique and customizable.
Cosima Montavoci with Sunset Yogurt, an artist creating contemporary jewelry who uses Murano glass for sculptural, bold, and provocative creations.
Igor Balbi is a Master Glassmaker from Murano. His goblets are a cult object that, from being a symbolic element of Murano tradition, become unique and sculptural pieces in his hands. Creative and curious, Igor invented the lampworking technique that today bears his name and is recognized and studied by the Corning Museum of Glass in New York.
The value of an auction at the homes of Venetian artisans
The purchase of an object placed on AstaZoom aims to increase its material value through an ethical and rooted completion, imbued not only with energy, care, and dedication, but also with encouragement for the author’s artistic and creative process.
It will also be a charitable contribution, which for this first occasion is the nonprofit “Il Cerchio,” a nonprofit organization operating in the Venice area with the aim of promoting solidarity, integration, and sustainable development.
One of the activities of the Il Cerchio Association was to create a tailoring workshop in the women’s prison on Giudecca, in Venice. The splendid Banco Lotto n. 10 tailoring collection was showcased during Venice Fashion Week 2018 at T Fondaco dei Tedeschi.
A few simple rules for a digital auction
The rules for participating in the auction are simple. It is free and by invitation, and registration via email is required at the following address: infoastazoom@gmail.com.
Then, if you wish to win an object, you must click on the “raise hand” button in the chat. The first person to register wins the first “bid,” while those who follow can raise the bid by writing their offers in the chat.
The final piece goes to the highest bidder, who will pay the artisan directly. At the end of the auction, you will receive an email with a summary of purchases made and the artisans’ direct contacts to proceed with payment. Shipping costs are not included in the price.
