Thirty events, twenty-six locations, seventy creatives, seven participating nations: Venice Fashion Week begins Thursday, October 17
As always, the focus is on #sustainablefashion, which in Venice means artisanal, made-to-measure, and local, because supporting craftsmanship and Venice’s creative talents means supporting the very life of the city.
This is an international Venice Fashion Week: in addition to emerging local talents, the Venetian fashion week also hosts designers from the United Kingdom, Austria, France, South Africa, Germany, Turkey, and Iran.
Thursday, October 17
The event begins on Thursday, October 17 at 6 PM with the tableau vivant L’ultimo spessore. L’orma rigeneratrice dell’amore by Romi Loch Davis at the Magazzino Gallery of Palazzo Polignac.
Carla Plessi presents her bags with a cocktail at 6:30 PM at the Edmond à Venise concept store, where we can also meet François du Chastel from the French brand Chatelles.
The common thread of the entire event is tailoring, customization, and unique made-to-measure pieces, both for clothing and contemporary jewelry, to which Venice Fashion Week dedicates the opening event on Thursday evening at 8 PM on the historic terrace of the Hotel Bonvecchiati.

Writer Alberto Toso Fei, together with the Associazione Piazza San Marco, takes us to discover the fashion routes of the Marciana Area with a walk that concludes at the atelier of Venetian designer Antonia Sautter.
The new fashion street
On Friday, October 18 at 6:30 PM, the new fashion street #SotoportegoDeRialto debuts: sustainable brands, artisan workshops, design, and innovative boutiques in the ancient street of goldsmiths.
A capsule collection made with seaweed fabrics, the cutting of an opal, models dressed in glass, DJ sets, two Murano glass design exhibitions, and goldsmith workshops: the artisan workshops and merchants of the Sotoportego, united in an association, await the public to share their stories and reveal a Venetian street that has always been a place of luxury and creativity.

In the evening at 9 PM, Lunardelli Venezia presents the young designer Gianluca Regazzo and his fashion collection made of leather and Venetian mosaic, alongside the artisanal wood and glass design productions that characterize the work of Lunardelli Venezia.
Four events on Saturday, October 19
The itinerant performance NOPLASTIC by artist Alexandra Mas—created by Marco Tassini and MasTassini Studio in collaboration with IFA Paris, master mask-maker Sergio Boldrin, and the Association Lin et chanvre bio Normandie—is supported by the Associazione Piazza San Marco and the VeniceTapWater project. The performance, which aims to raise awareness among Venice’s multicultural public about the environmental emergency, will start on Saturday at 3 PM from Campo San Giacometto in Rialto and arrive at San Marco by gondola.
At 4:30 PM on Saturday at the Casa dei Tre Oci, Denis Curti leads us on a discovery of the exhibition Viaggio, Racconto, Memoria by Ferdinando Scianna. From October 17 to 26, by presenting the Venice Fashion Week 2019 map at the Casa dei Tre Oci ticket office, you will be entitled to a special reduced entry of 9 euros to the exhibition. The hashtags are: #treoci #sciannatreoci #viaggioraccontomemoria.
At 6:30 PM, an original sensory adventure uses scented experiences and music to tell the story of the Scuola Grande San Giovanni Evangelista, a Venetian confraternity founded in 1261.
The first Saturday of Venice Fashion Week concludes at 8 PM with a fashion show by Viennese designer Michel Mayer in the mysterious spaces of the Boutique Hotel Heureka.
Sunday, October 20
Palazzo Bonfadini debuts on the Venetian cultural scene with a collective event bringing together contemporary brands, designers, and artisans in the historic 18th-century residence overlooking the Rio de Cannaregio, featuring original frescoes and spaces to discover. Ethical fashion, contemporary design, Made in Italy and Made in Turkey, reuse, and style lessons:

Monday, October 21, Novecento Boutique Hotel inaugurates a pop-up corner for tailored garments created by the Talking Hands project using high-quality raw materials from Lanificio Paoletti, a historic wool mill in Follina that boasts a full-cycle production of carded wool yarns and fabrics.
In Talking Hands, refugees and asylum seekers use design and manual activity as a form of storytelling.
