Seen during the preview of the 58th edition of the Biennale d’Arte: the new collection of the Venetian atelier Martina Vidal
A magical debut for the spring-summer creations of Martina Vidal: the preview of the 58th edition of the Venice Art Biennale.
Martina Vidal Atelier
Martina Vidal is among the last guardians of the art of lace, the ancient tradition of Burano, an island where the Venetian designer founded her own atelier in 1990. Lace processing risks disappearing, but the Martin Vidal Venezia brand protects it with dedication, and organizes lace courses in their Atelier.
All the creations are 100% Made in Italy: linen, cotton muslin embellished with embroidery and lace in harmony with Venice, which finds in this ancient art one of the milestones of its artisan tradition.
A heart-shaped logo is the symbol of their love for Venice
Martin Vidal Venezia, known at the beginning as Merletti d’arte Martina, aims to preserve a discipline that requires not only competence, but also passion, dedication and patience.
Born in 1990 as a small artisan workshop, Martina’s project now boasts a showroom of nearly 300 square meters of exhibition and it is an example for the entire city of Venice, thanks to their commitment to preserve crafts and traditions of a unique city like Venice.
In 2010 siblings Martina and Sergio Vidal launched the new brand Martin Vidal Venezia, which included the MV logo in all the collection creations, from the clothes to the accessories. A calligraphic trait draws the image of a heart, a metaphor of love that unites commitment to craftsmanship with the art of lace. The logo is also an immediate symbol for harmonious and elegant collections, simple and original at the same time.
