Art Night celebrates its 10th anniversary. What will the white night of culture in Venice be like?
Art Night Venezia returns and celebrates 10 years. The white night of Venetian culture is scheduled for Saturday, October 2, from 4:30 PM until midnight with visits, performances, events, museums open at extraordinary hours, and concerts at 90 locations in Venice and Mestre.
An inclusive and immersive experience conceived and coordinated by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice, with scientific direction by Silvia Burini and coordination by Angela Bianco.

A Few Previews
For the inauguration of the event, in the presence of Antonio Marcomini, Deputy Rector of Ca’ Foscari University, Silvia Burini, Scientific Director of Art Night Venezia, and Angela Bianco, Coordinator of Art Night Venezia, 250 limited edition reproductions will be given away at three different times (4:30 PM, 7:30 PM, and 10:30 PM), digitally reworked by the Emilian artistic collective Vitruvio Virtual Reality and connected to the video installation Venezia 3021, of paintings by Bernardo Bellotto, known as Canaletto.
The Entrance to the Grand Canal, Santa Maria della Salute, and The Customs House from Campo Santa Maria Zobenigo are reproduced in video through a virtual simulation of the Venice of the future. A project dedicated to Venice’s 1600th anniversary created with more than a thousand images including paintings, short film clips, and engravings.
Playing at the University
The Game of Venice 421-2021 and the Challenge Continues is a historical game inspired by the book Venice in Numbers, a Millennial History by Alberto Toso Fei, to be played in the exhibition spaces of Ca’ Foscari University. Everyone from age 6 and up can participate, in teams of 4 to 10 players (reservation required – Link here).
In Homage to the Supreme Poet
At 8:30 PM at the Auditorium Santa Margherita there will be the theatrical performance To the Dream! Dante Dreams/Dreaming Dante dedicated to the great Poet on the occasion of the 700th anniversary of his death.
Special Project
Photographic work by Alessandra Chemollo for LEI “STUPEFAZIONI“. An initiative in collaboration with LEI (Leadership, Energy, Entrepreneurship) promoted by Ca’ Foscari University of Venice to foster young women’s employability and strengthen the social and economic role of women in the workplace.
Connected with Paris’s Nuit Blanche
Art Night Venezia is part of the official calendar of European Art Nights and this year falls on the same day as the famous Nuit Blanche in Paris, with which it will be connected live – see the video below.
