La morte bianca is the novel that established Eugenia Rico as one of Spain’s leading writers, earning her the Azorín Prize and acclaim from El País. Following the novels Gli amanti (2017) and Il sentiero del diavolo (2018), the Asturian author presents her third novel translated into Italian at the monumental Ca’ Sagredo hotel. Defined by Luis Sepúlveda as one of the most original voices in Spanish fiction, Eugenia Rico is one of the most innovative writers in Spanish of recent decades. Born in Oviedo, Asturias, she holds a law degree, is a journalist, and author of, among others, Aunque seamos malditas, the essay En el país de las vacas sin ojos (Spirituality Prize 2005), El otoño alemán (Ateneo de Sevilla Novel Prize 2006). She lives and works in Venice, where in 2018 Incroci di Civiltà awarded her the Bauer International Literary Prize alongside Ian McEwan.
