As one of Europe’s leading academic institutions for designer training and fashion studies, Iuav University is helping to transform Venice and the way we study. Pre-enrollment for the Master’s Degree in Moda | Fashion is open until August 20, 2025.
Programs designed to address the industry’s urgent challenges and envision sustainable future scenarios: thanks to an international faculty of professors and designers, experimental laboratories, and strategic partnerships, IUAV University’s fashion degree programs train professionals destined to become leaders in contemporary fashion.
To meet the growing demand for high-profile figures with expertise in circularity and sustainability, the Master’s degree features a new bilingual Italian/English structure and two specializations: Fashion Design and Fashion Ecologies, significantly expanding the professional prospects of young talents.
While learning to conceive, design, and create collections, students integrate creativity, environmental sustainability, and social responsibility, collaborating through internships with research centers, companies, institutions, foundations, archives, and events.
Pre-enrollment for the 2025/26 Master’s Degree in Moda | Fashion at Iuav University of Venice is open until 12 PM on August 20.
The relationship with the city: Venice Fashion Week
With a view to strengthening the link between the university and the local area, Iuav offers students the opportunity to participate in projects that are part of the city’s main events.
The twelfth edition of Venice Fashion Week will host five young talents from IUAV fashion degree programs on October 22 at Palazzo Sagredo, selected for the Le Mani Sapienti event. Their collections, developed around the theme of Quiet Luxury, will be presented alongside independent brands and contemporary artisans.
The relationship with the city: Venice Design Week
The finissage of the exhibition Filamenta. Textile materials between fashion and interior design (October 11–26), organized by Venice Design Week, will be held on October 25 at the Palazzo Mocenigo Museum. The exhibition includes projects created by Iuav Master’s students, featuring the presentation of the book Interspecies Fashion. Fungi and practices of re-enchantment by Clizia Moradei, published by Postmedia Books.
Fashion at Iuav
In July, the Tolentini cloister hosted Fashion at Iuav, the annual graduation show presenting the final projects of students from the fashion programs.
Coordinated by Mariavittoria Sargentini and Judith Hohnschopp with Simone Mussat Sartor, the young designers shared their vision of fashion and contemporary society: from exploring family memory to reinterpreting Italian cinema, from transforming urban spaces into creative venues to merging Eastern and Western cultural traditions, and from sublimating violence into aesthetics to deconstructing traditional aesthetic codes, they created new visual languages and defined personal stylistic codes. The show was directed by Alessia Prati, with sound design by Giovanni Lazzari and Carlo Chiusi.
To create their collections, students collaborated with entities from the Venetian fashion system, creating a direct bridge to the local production fabric, a hallmark of Made in Italy excellence.
