The third edition of the Venice Boat Show, a strategic city to represent the best of Mediterranean boating, unique in the world for its logistics, offering 1,600 years of maritime tradition and culture.
From May 28 to June 5, 2022, the third edition of the Boat Show is scheduled to take place in the Venice Arsenale shipyard complex: the excellence of Italian and international leisure boating, focusing on eco-sustainability and the green evolution of low-impact technologies.
Nine days in a water space of 50,000 sqm and 30,000 sqm of exhibition space for displays of design, nautical furniture, art, and Venetian artisanal shipbuilding.
Major leading groups in national and international shipbuilding will be present: Ferretti Group has been present since the first edition with world premieres, from the highly anticipated Wallypower 58 to the smaller 43X, alongside one of the flagships, the 32 m Custom Line 106. New entries include Sanlorenzo, a yacht shipyard since 1958 which, for The Venice Biennale 2022, sponsored the Italian Pavilion alongside the fashion house Valentino; the Azimut | Benetti shipyard with an important fleet including the Magellano 66 and the Timeless version of the 25 m; and Sunseeker, arriving from England with the 65 Sport Yacht and the 68 Manhattan.
World premiere of the motorboats Anvera 58, Monachus 70, Absolute 56 Fly, Sessa Marine C3X, by Falcon Tenders and Frauscher.
Among the sailboats: Beneteau, More, the brand new Lagoon 50, and Wauquiez.
36 electric boats with motors including Harmo, the Yamaha electric motor, mounted on Respiro, a boat produced by Venmar based on the Lido of Venice.
Motorsport starts in Venice
During the Boat Show 2022, the pilots of the electric boat that will race in the first season of the E1 World Electric Powerboat Series in 2023 will be announced; the championship was conceived by Spaniard Alejandro Agag (Formula E, Extreme E) and Rodi Basso, an engineer with a background as technical director in McLaren’s racing department.
The chosen team is primarily Italian and also Venetian: led by entrepreneur Francesco Pannoli, energy management consultant; Claudio Iannelli of E-concept; offshore world champion Luigi Radice; motorsport specialist Eugenio Razelli; and Francois Richard of Lanéva Boats for general development.
Art at the Boat Show
The Fondazione Musei Civici di Venezia participates in the Boat Show with a series of activities, including a competition for the design of sustainable boats, visits to the Dandolo submarine, and a Treasure Hunt.
The winners of the International Competition for the selection of Boat Studies and Projects – Sustainable Navigation will be awarded on June 2 among the works presented in Tesa 99. Projects from the previous edition will also be on display: Glaros by the Polito Sailing Team, a student group from the Polytechnic of Turin, and Dedalo by the Audace Sailing Team from the Department of Engineering and Architecture of the University of Trieste.
Discover the Enrico Dandolo submarine
The discovery of the Enrico Dandolo submarine is part of the enrichment of the heritage of the Naval History Museum of Venice. Launched in 1967, 46 m long and 5 m wide, its task was to hunt nuclear submarines in the Mediterranean during the Cold War.
Visits start from 2:30 PM on May 28 and continue until June 5 with short ten-minute tours from 10:30 AM to 7:20 PM, with mandatory booking at the Arsenale desk.
A Treasure Hunt in the Arsenale
For families with children aged 7 to 12, there is a staged route guided by an educator to discover the historic sites of the Venice Arsenale, on the following days: May 28 and 29, and June 2 at 11 AM (except 28.05), 2:30 PM, and 4 PM.
For those who purchase a ticket for the Civic Museums of Venice, entry to the Boat Show is €10 and vice versa.

Highlights of the first 7 days of the Boat Show
Numerous conferences, presentations, and sporting initiatives will also take place in the city on themes of sustainability and the environment with the participation of experts from all over the world.
The first appointment, at the headquarters of the VIU – Venice International University, at 9 AM on May 28, is for the Venice Statement on the Law of the Sea and Sustainability, the seminar on biodiversity protection, climate change, and the Blue Economy organized by the Italian Navy.
Festa della Sensa
Sunday, May 29 at 10 AM in St. Mark’s Basin, the traditional Festa della Sensa will take place, with the Marriage of Venice with the Sea.
At 11 AM, the first thematic meetings begin at the Arsenale with Waterfronts: The Declinations of Water, curated by Studio Marco Piva, at the Torre di Porta Nuova of the Arsenale.
Monday, May 30, at 3:30 PM, Area Scali, presentation of the book Dentro Luna Rossa by Gianluca Atlante and the meeting Dentro Luna Rossa with Fiamme Gialle athletes: Ruggero Tita and Romano Battisti.
Tuesday, May 31, in addition to the Flyboard Freestyle Show at the Arsenale’s medium dry dock, Giulio Loris from the Associazione Vela al Terzo will let us discover the evolution of a sailing sampierota built by the Schiavon brothers in 1963.
E-Regatta and other races
Wednesday, June 1 at 4:30 PM, the parade of “full electric” boats of the E-Regatta with a route from the Darsena Grande, Cannaregio, Rialto, St. Mark’s Basin, and return to the Arsenale.
Thursday, June 2, regatta with traditional vela al terzo boats between Chioggia and Venice; at 10 AM a double appointment: at the Darsena Grande for the E-Regatta Slalom trial and for the second phase of the Sci-Voga race, an event created by Mirko Sguario, the creator of the Venice Hospitality Challenge.
At the Idroscalo at 3:30 PM, the final GT-Electra one-design speed race of the E-Regatta.
Friday, June 3, at the Torre di Porta Nuova in the Arsenale, the conference Towards the Ecological Transition. At 3 PM, an all-female challenge on Polynesian canoes with teams from the ForzaRosa International movement. Following this, at the Dandolo submarine area, the E-Regatta awards ceremony.
