Casino Royale, Subsonica, Planet Funk, Mace and Saturnino on stage on October 25 for the second edition of Venezia Sounds, the charity music party at the Tese delle Nappe dell’Arsenale, organized by the Fondazione Giancarlo Ligabue and the Medicine Rocks Association. All ticket proceeds will be donated to fund medical research.
Confirmed artists for the second edition
In addition to Casino Royale, Subsonica, Planet Funk, Mace, and Saturnino, the stage will feature Pisti in a DJ set, Le Votives, and The Originals, the project bringing together Africa Unite and The Bluebeaters. A special moment will be the friendly participation of Jovanotti, a friend of Tomaso Cavanna.
After last year’s sold-out event and 69,000 euros raised for immunotherapy research at the IRCCS Humanitas Clinical Institute, the event returns with new artists and the artistic direction of Samuel Romano. The proceeds will support the Humanitas Foundation for Research and, as a new charity partner, the VIMM – Veneto Institute of Molecular Medicine.
Marco Maccarini and Federico Russo will host the evening, which combines emotion and support for science, keeping alive the memory of Tomaso Cavanna, the Venetian music manager who passed away in 2019.
More space, more music, same heart

The legacy of Tomaso Cavanna
“Tomaso had the energy of someone who knew how to bring people together, who turned passions into a tool for change. With Venezia Sounds, we want to carry that vision forward: music as a bridge, as a common language that does good twice over, because it moves us and at the same time supports medical research. After last year’s success, Medicine Rocks returns to Venice, Tomaso’s beloved hometown, with even more strength, more space, and more music, but always with the same heart,” declares Edy Campo, president of the Medicine Rocks Association.
Results of the first edition
The 2024 edition raised 68,900 euros, donated to support research for cancer treatments, while overall — including previous musical events promoted in Milan and Venice in 2019 — the contribution to studies in the oncological field reached 158,900 euros.
This year, with a larger number of tickets available and thanks to the participation of many leading figures from the music world, the aim is even higher, with the goal of supporting the studies of two centers of excellence in the field of biomedical research.
