Tailors, designers, florists, boutiques and craft shops in Venice: an itinerary

Venice has been the city of high craftsmanship, precious products and style for over a millennium. A source of inspiration for fashion trends well before the Renaissance; here lace, perfume, weaving techniques, cutting diamonds, printing and other wonders can still be seen and touched by discovering the Venetian artisan shops.

Organising the Venice Fashion Week has also been an opportunity to make a careful research on fashion and craft in Venice, which allowed us to select tailors, artisan shops, innovative boutiques, ateliers where you can find unique products.

With this itinerary we invite you to discover Venice’s creative boutiques that organize events, workshops, fashion shows and cocktails on the occasion of the fashion week, and which are a heritage of artisan techniques that tells the history and life of Venice.

If you would like to meet these and other designers during the Venice Fashion Week and discover the clothing, accessories, collections and craft techniques they use, from Monday 22nd to Friday 26th October from 3pm to 6pm at Palazzo Marin you can visit an unusual show-room where designers and artisans – La Perla Nera, Vera Road, V73, Martina Vidal – will enliven the frescoed rooms with fluid clothes, precious embroidery, dream bags and handmade jewellery.

Friday, October 26th from 3 to 6 pm with the second edition of Afternoon at the Palazzo you can discover eleven designers, in an event with drinks, music and fashion shows. Palazzo Marin is in Campo Santa Maria del Giglio 2541.

Paperoowl – Santa Croce 2155 / A

Transforming paper into design objects and jewellery is the project realised by Stefania Giannici, creator of Paperoowl. Gilded, hand-printed, marbled or silk-screened papers from all over the world, with a selection of quality materials along with colours, folds and details. Stefania cleverly shapes the paper to create jewellery, decorations, home decor and stationery: boxes, envelopes, notebooks, gift and furnishing items, up to the incredible necklaces in paper pearls: beautiful, colourful or minimal, and light!

This artisan shop in Calle Longa in Santa Croce has created, together with Bottega 2137 and Slash, the Calle Longa District, which periodically organizes events and creative workshops for the Venice Fashion Week.

Workshop 2137 – Santa Croce 2137

The magic of flowers that rebalance the soul, minimal and contemporary design, chic details and great love for people and their work. It is the feeling you have with the Florists Manuela and Paola della Bottega 2137 when they talk softly about how to take care of the plants or dispense precious advice. Beautiful floral arrangements with vases in cement or innovative materials, research throughout Europe of beautiful objects to create the decorations for the parties and for the preparation of events.

Tanti Bacci Style – Campo de le Beccarie 360, San Polo

In Campo delle Beccarie, right at the entrance to the Rialto Market, there is a boutique of Made in Italy clothes, costumes and accessories, carefully selected by the Venetian Silvia Bacci; a place where you can discover colourful and fun craft collections, emerging designers and new researching brands attentive to ethical and sustainable fashion. Tanti Bacci Style hosts the collection of Progetto Quid, a social brand that offers support to special women, where each piece is handmade with the best unsold textiles of the Made in Italy.

Saturday 27th October from 6.30 pm: Fashion and music in Pescheria di Rialto

An unprecedented fashion and music show transforms Campo de le Beccarie into an unexpected walkway between the Tanti Bacci Style boutique of the Venetian Silvia Bacci and the Pescaria Wine Bar. A toast with the Opere Serenissima wines of Villa Sandi will celebrate the beginning of the new season.

The Dream of Valentina – Calle Gambara, 1053 / c Dorsoduro – Accademia

A boutique that offers garments designed by young designers, shoes made with precious materials and totally Made in Italy accessories: it’s Il Sogno di Valentina, the new store in Dorsoduro of clothing and creative accessories created by the Venetian Valentina De Faveri.

It is an alternative space that offers high quality Italian products just a few steps away from the Accademia Bridge. Valentina also collaborates with some local companies including Gabs – an Italian company that produces accessories with futuristic colours using exclusively Italian leathers.

Il Sogno di Valentina for Venice Fashion Week organizes two aperitifs with dj-set inside the boutique on Saturday 20th and 27th October from 6pm onwards.

Micromega – Calle delle Ostreghe 2436, San Marco

Micoromega Hand- and custom-made eyewear have the characteristic of being very light and sometimes invisible. Sometimes, however, their hyper-contemporary style has strong personality, and they are appreciated by stylists such as Rick Owens who wanted the latest mask glasses for his fashion show at Paris Fashion Week. These are the Micromega glasses.

Arnoldo & Battois – Calle dei Fuseri 4271, San Marco

The Venetian Boutique Arnoldo & Battois is the creator of a new language that oscillates between vintage and modern trends. The Arnoldo & Battois 2018 collection Le jardin dés reves narrates of a dream and a journey through beautiful gardens. Prints that seem to be taken by Secessionist artworks or by the Art Nouveau tradition are mixed with marine and floral elements that become gardens.

V73 – Calle Frezzeria, 1179, San Marco

V as Venice, 73 as her year of birth. These are the V73 bags, designed by the Venetian designer Elisabetta Armellin. The great passion for bags, feminine accessory par excellence, has led her to the creation of a brand that embodies her personal style: the values of tradition are combined with the latest technologies.

The simplicity of the boutique, in Calle Frezzaria, reflects the philosophy behind the brand that worships women in their everyday life and combines elegance with practicality.

V73 participates in Venice Fashion Week with an event at Palazzo Marin on Sunday, October 21st at 3:00 pm: a film set for V73 fans. Drinks with Opere Serenissima wines of Villa Sandi and the artisanal sweets by Pasticceria Giotto. Palazzo Marin is in Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, at 2541 of San Marco.

Venetian Dreams – Calle della Mandola 3805 / a, S. Marco

Jewels, embroidery, flowers and corals with Venetian pearls and glass smallwares. Venetian Dreams is the atelier of the Marisa Convento. Marisa has collected the ancient art of the impiraresses, the legacy of a culture that has its roots in the history of Venice itself. In 2007 Venetian Dreams was born, an artisan workshop of jewels and accessories created with Murano glass, Burano lace, silver and precious metals up to the oldest fabrics.

For Venice Fashion Week on Friday October 26th from 5pm Marisa Convento organizes Madama Butterfly, a small and unconventional fashion show of clothes by an independent Venetian tailor: the Sartoria Dei Dogi by Sabrina Pigozzo.

Norma’s – Calle de le Boteghe 2995, San Marco

A boutique with Italian handicraft items and accessories, such as Salviati glasses, lamps created with glass from the 1900s, tattoos in gold and silver dust produced by Venetian gold-beaters, bags and ‘furlane’ in precious fabrics like those of Bevilacqua. Your companion for your free time is Teod’Amar, the beach towel made with the sceneries of Venice. Each towel in the collection carries the name of one of the city district.

 Acqua dell’Elba – Campo San Bartolomeo 5383 / A, Cannaregio

Seaweed, citrus and jasmine, helichrysum, woods and aromatic herbs: the Acqua dell’Elba fragrances are created for those who love the simplicity, transparency and beauty of evoking the entire olfactory universe of the Elba Island and to let everyone all over the world know and breathe the essences of that territory.

Saturday 27th October from 6pm the scent of the sea hosts the style of Demis Marin in the Acqua dell’Elba boutique: a fragrant aperitif, the history of the Tuscan company, a capsule. Demis Marin: A ‘clochard’ capsule.

Boutique Zazù – Calle Seconda dei Saoneri 2750, San Polo

Research and craftsmanship for a boutique that always leaves you breathless: chosen by Julia Tamari and Cristina Ignomeriello, the creations of Italian, Japanese, French and Portuguese designers from Zazù are enhanced by bright jewels and precious handbags. All handmade for a unique collection in the heart of Venice.

Isla Fontaine – Rio Terà, 2614, San Polo (Near the Campo dei Frari)

The Venetian designer Eleonora Mayerle presents her collection of Isla Fontaine, jewels and bags, entirely handmade by Italian artisans, and a selection of precious products from other Italian and foreign brands. Eleonora bags and jewels are dedicated to geometry and colour and combine the international trends of her artistic background with the quality of the Made in Italy.

Martin Vidal Atelier – Via San Mauro 309, Isola di Burano

On Burano Island, the Atelier Martina Vidal takes the tradition of the lace to the contemporary fashion with a new collection created together with the artisan excellences of the Venetian arena. Atelier Pietro Longhi, Nardi Jewellery, Rubelli Fabrics and Perle di Vetro of the Impiraressa Marisa Convento have collaborated in the creation of the new collection of clothes, accessories, hats and jewellery in cashmere, silk, cotton satin and linen yarns, enriched with precious elements and unique details. The clothing matches tablecloths and centrepieces, bed linen and towels, embroidered by hand and tailor made.

Nuovi Laboratori – Viale San Marco 102 / n, Mestre

Bottega- workshop of design and clothing, Nuovi Laboratori in Mestre is the creative space of Demis Marin, Arsine Nazarian and Massimiliano Bandera. Founded in 2017 in the Metropolitan Area, the project gives voice to the creativity of contemporary artists in a spirit of interaction and dissemination of the art of manufacturing. Clothing, accessories and even a line dedicated to home decorations.

Ivo Milan – Via Santa Lucia 73, Padua

The Boutique Ivo Milan , situated in the heart of Padua, has taken part in the growth of Made in Italy with the most authoritative stylists / designers of the ’70s and’ 80s, opening then, from the mid-80s, to the arrival of new and more creative designers, such as Rey Kawakubo for Comme des Garçons, Issey Miyake, Yohji Yamamoto and Junya Watanabe (defined by the Victoria & Albert Museum in London as the protagonists of Radical Fashion).

The secret side of Radical Fashion: Orlando Milan

Some masterpieces, yet unknown for their limited production worldwide, designed by the protagonists of the radical fashion of the ’80s and other more recent experiences will be presented and commented by Orlando Milan in a showroom format on Sunday, October 22nd from 6:30 pm at  Palazzo Marin in Campo Santa Maria del Giglio, 2541 San Marco. The meeting inaugurates a series of events to discover and listen to the protagonists of a fashion between history and culture, and will be celebrated with a toast with the Opere Serenissima wines of Villa Sandi and the artisanal sweets of Pasticceria Giotto di Padova.
