The great fashion houses participate in the Biennale Arte 2024 Foreigners Everywhere with celebratory and phantasmagorical exhibitions while the city’s finest artisans create tangible dreams in honor of the Italian Pavilion.
The Italian Pavilion Celebrates Made in Italy with Tod’s
Today at 3:30 PM the Italian Pavilion opens at the Giardino delle Tese delle Vergini in the Arsenale. Curated by Luca Cerizza and promoted by the Directorate General for Contemporary Creativity of the MiC, Due qui / To Hear is a large sound and environmental installation by artist Massimo Bartolini, which invites us to the physical and metaphorical listening of ourselves and others.
The city’s finest artisans have been involved to create tangible dreams in the exhibition The Art of Craftsmanship – A project by Venetian Masters, at the Tese San Cristoforo in the Arsenale, created by Tod’s in honor of the Italian Pavilion.
The exhibition features Venetian Masters of Art and Craft, such as the hat maker Giuliana Longo, the oar maker Saverio Pastor, and the master glassmaker Lucio Bubacco, interpreting the gommino, the brand’s iconic shoe, through their art, their tools, and their mastery, celebrating “Beautiful and well made“, symbols of Made in Italy and Tod’s most authentic values.
A gigantic luminous red spool welcomes us at the entrance, and then leads us to the center of the monumental tesa, where the ropes of the ships built by the Serenissima Republic were “stretched”: it is the site-specific work by Venetian artist Federica Marangoni.

The exhibition is open to the public Saturday, April 20 and Sunday, April 21 at the Tese di San Cristoforo in the Arsenale, from 10 AM to 8 PM. For those already at the Biennale, a shuttle will be available from the Giardino delle Vergini.

Buccellati Presents The Prince of Goldsmiths, Rediscovering the Classics
In Venice, a global reference point for art and goldsmith tradition, the high jewelry Maison Buccellati celebrates the figure of Mario Buccellati, described by Gabriele D’Annunzio in 1936 as the prince of goldsmiths. The exhibition rediscovers the “classic”, interpreting objects that convey universal feelings of closeness, wonder, amazement, and passion, achieving eternity.

Schiaparelli’s World
Delphine Bellini, CEO of Maison Schiaparelli, and Veronica and Luca Marzotto present the exhibition Schiaparelli’s World, dedicated to the maison created by Elsa Schiaparelli, the couturier who made Italian fashion great in the world and who left an indelible mark on world fashion, collaborating with and dressing the most important artists of the 20th century such as Salvador Dalì and Jean Cocteau.

Anime di Venezia – Souls of Venice
Lorenzo Quinn’s new creation is exhibited in Venice in honor of the celebrations of Marco Polo’s Anniversary. The work, consisting of 15 mesh statues, a metallic weave, animated by augmented reality, represents some of the most significant personalities, the souls, throughout the centuries of the Serenissima. The project has Alberto Toso Fei as Artistic Director and is curated by Chiara Squarcina. It is a tribute to seal the union and symbiosis between the City and its Arts, expressed by the Venetians who have made it immortal.
