The Home of The Human Safety Net, with free admission for all, is a place to create, observe, and connect. An interactive exhibition, a café overlooking Piazza San Marco, library, bookstore, bookshop. The Procuratie are a place of activity and growth for children and families, with free admission.
In Piazza San Marco there is a cultural venue that welcomes everyone: families, children, young adults, Venetians, and travelers. It is The Home of The Human Safety Net, the Procuratie, with exhibitions, café, library, children’s museum, and new games to discover your potential.
The Home offers the city and its visitors concerts, art cinema, children’s workshops, yoga, theater, and free-admission events for all ages. The entrance to The Home is from Corte Maruzzi. Inside, an interactive exhibition available in six languages introduces visitors to the project’s themes; the library, freely accessible, contains hundreds of volumes in five languages for adults and children; there are spaces for studying and working, and the Museum Shop is perfect for thinking about gifts with special value, featuring design objects created by NGOs and books on Venice’s history, social impact, and early childhood.
At Caffè Illy you can enjoy a break, from coffee to light lunch, while taking in a view of the Piazza through the oculi, openings that offer a privileged glimpse of Venetian life.
A World of Potential
Discover the best qualities in yourself and others: A World of Potential, the interactive exhibition that helps you discover your potential through games, challenges at the Wheel of Hope, exercises to train lateral thinking, and surprises for Teamwork, is enriched with new multisensory experiences.
Curated by Orna Cohen of Dialogue Social Enterprise and designed by Studio Migliore+Servetto, A World of Potential engages visitors with concepts such as creativity, perseverance, gratitude, curiosity, hope, social intelligence, and teamwork, translated into 16 multimedia installations, both analog and digital, capable of engaging diverse audiences and generating reflections and conversations in six languages: English, French, Italian, Spanish, German, and Chinese. Visitors can thus interact with the extraordinary stories of cultural figures of our time, and with the true stories of beneficiaries, volunteers, and operators of The Human Safety Net.
An Inclusive and Accessible Space
The Procuratie are equipped with a 230-seat auditorium, active with conferences, screenings, and dialogues on social innovation. The Café, managed by Illy, allows for refreshing breaks with a view of Piazza San Marco. An open-shelf library allows free reading in child-friendly design spaces.
The Hub is the operational space where working groups such as civic associations, partner NGOs, and other organizations meet for joint projects, with the aim of developing sustainability and social inclusion projects and collaboration between public and private sectors, profit and non-profit.
The new Museum Shop offers books and charitable design objects, and the exhibition spaces host the interactive exhibition A World of Potential and temporary exhibitions.
Your Donation Makes a Difference
Every euro donated to The Human Safety Net goes directly to the field, exempt from administrative deductions. Since 2017, this global movement has reached over 800,000 people in 25 countries through two concrete programs: support for vulnerable families with young children (0-6 years) and integration of refugees into the workforce.
The numbers tell real stories: 650 start-ups founded by refugees, 1,500 jobs created, 56 NGOs active daily in 23 countries. The network of 85 partners among NGOs and social enterprises works every day to unlock the potential of those living in precarious conditions.
The For Refugees program operates in 6 countries with 30 NGOs, and the program for families focuses on the early years of children’s lives, a crucial period for development. Both contribute to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, from child health (SDG 3 and 4) to job creation and sustainable communities (SDG 8 and 11), demonstrating that impact arises from collaboration among different countries and stakeholders (SDG 17).

Winter is sweet in Piazza San Marco with events at the Procuratie: concerts, art cinema, children’s workshops, yoga, theater, games, music, and stories from around the world with free admission for all. The vaults of the Procuratie, illuminated by the twelve artistic Murano chandeliers of Murano Illumina il Mondo (on view until March 4, 2026), welcome the public at the entrance to The Home. Open doors with free-admission events for everyone and all ages.

Concerts, science, and activities for young people and children: in November, astrophysicist Amedeo Balbi speaks about space exploration. Scientists, artists, and innovators meet to discuss regenerative solutions for humanity at the Forum of Possibilities, organized by Sumus. The INVOLVED! series is a program aimed at students, associations, and the third sector to generate sustainable entrepreneurship. While the Venetians by Choice series celebrates those who have chosen to live and work in Venice, among the most beloved events is Values in Music, concerts in collaboration with the Benedetto Marcello Conservatory.
