Venice in the future: 13 artists, graphic designers, photographers imagine a future for Venice in the ideas competition organized by e-concept
e-concept, a Venetian company committed to making transportation in Venice sustainable through the electrification of boating, has launched a contest titled Venice in the Future in collaboration with Repower, The St. Regis Venice, Lightbox, and Venezia da Vivere.
Raising awareness about sustainability with particular attention to the ecological evolution of Venice and its water-based mobility is the objective of the competition and the modus operandi of its creators.
Over 200 participants entered the first edition of the competition, a figure that indicates significant interest in Venice, its future, and attention to the theme of sustainability.
Here are the 13 finalists selected, among whom stand out the names of established Venetian artists, photographers, and creatives: Lucia Veronesi, Alvise Bittente, Giacomo Cosua, Marco Valmarana, Irene Fuga, Jacopo Rosati, Marco Camuffo, Giacomo Gandola, and Mattia Caracciolo, together with emerging young talents Sofia Bisoffi, Alex Cottin, Nicolò Giordano, and Zaccaria Canal.
The finalists’ images will be presented on e-concept‘s Instagram profile and by Venezia da Vivere. Here are the first four presented by e-concept, plus the cover image selected by us.
The winner will be announced on November 30 during the awards ceremony to be held at The St. Regis Venice on the Grand Canal, the first Venetian hotel to have equipped itself with a charging station for electric boats.
The e-contest jury is composed of Claudio Iannelli, founder of e-concept, Mara Sartore, director of Lightbox, Sergio Pascolo, IUAV professor and president of Venice Urban Lab, Jane Da Mosto, co-founder of the NGO We are here Venice, and Laura Scarpa, co-founder of Venezia da Vivere.
