Paper and light dialogue in the exhibition at Palazzo Venart by paper artist Anita Cerpelloni
From May 13 to June 29, Venezia da Vivere and Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel continue their investigation into the relationship between craftsmanship, materials, and design in Venice, with the second exhibition of 2025 in the Master Artisans series at Palazzo Venart in San Stae.
The May appointment at Palazzo Venart is dedicated to paper and the work of paper artist and architect Anita Cerpelloni. Her works, sculptures and lamps, use the material as a narrative surface and are positioned between art and craftsmanship.
Master Artisans is a series of exhibitions curated by Venezia da Vivere to present craftsmanship as language and identity, through the materials and visions of excellence in contemporary craftsmanship in Venice.

The Paper Speaks
Paper carries many stories. Born in China and brought to the West, it has transformed over time, becoming a fundamental element for the dissemination of culture.
In the context of Palazzo Venart Luxury Hotel, which evokes the ancient splendors of the Serenissima, paper reveals itself through light.
Papers of different weights and finishes, hand-decorated or printed, are enhanced by light sources that highlight their folds and details. Light passes through them, diffusing a soft glow capable of making spaces intimate and precious. Paper and light dialogue in a silent narrative, modulated by luminous sculptures that reveal hidden motifs and unexpected details.
Over the years, research into materials has expanded to include direct knowledge of artisanal paper production, learned from a master papermaker in Venice. Thoroughly understanding the characteristics and peculiarities of different types of paper allows for more conscious use in artistic projects. The encounter between architecture, design, and craftsmanship generates works born from a slow and meticulous gesture, always faithful and always unique.
The exhibition presents objects and luminous sculptures created using the origami technique—from the Japanese ori, to fold, and gami, paper—alongside works created through Paper Engineering, which gives structure and three-dimensionality to the sheet.
Anita Cerpelloni
Anita Cerpelloni, architect, artist, and designer, lives and works in Venice. Her atelier and gallery is located at San Marco 3209/A, in Salizada Malipiero.
