From September 13 to 21, 2025, The Venice Glass Week returns with #TheMagicOfGlass: nine days of exhibitions, installations, workshops, and meetings dedicated to the art of glass in Venice and Murano.
A record number of applications from 54 countries for the ninth edition of the festival promoted by the City of Venice, Fondazione Musei Civici, Le Stanze del Vetro – Fondazione Giorgio Cini, Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti, and Consorzio Promovetro Murano.
The program opens at the Glass Museum in Murano with Vero Casanova, an immersive exhibition curated by Matteo Silverio, celebrating the 300th anniversary of Giacomo Casanova’s birth. Also at the Glass Museum, visitors can see Storie di fabbriche. Storie di famiglie. FRATELLI TOSO, a retrospective dedicated to one of Murano’s most important glassworks between the 19th and 20th centuries.
On the island of San Giorgio Maggiore, Le Stanze del Vetro hosts 1932–1942 Murano Glass and the Venice Biennale, curated by Marino Barovier.
Among the most anticipated novelties is the collective exhibition The Venice Glass Week HUB Under35, held for the first time this year at the Galleria in Piazza San Marco of the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa, featuring thirty emerging young artists and designers from around the world presenting innovative visions of artistic glass, reinterpreting a millenary tradition with contemporary languages.
At Palazzo Franchetti from September 16 to 18, the Study Days on Venetian Glass promoted by the Istituto Veneto di Scienze, Lettere ed Arti will take place.
Greatly anticipated is Tristano di Robilant InAcademia at the Gallerie dell’Accademia; twelve glass sculptures by Tristano di Robilant engage in dialogue with Venetian Renaissance masterpieces and invite a new interpretation of the permanent collection.

Twelve glass sculptures by the artist Tristano di Robilant at the Gallerie dell’Accademia, one of Venice’s most important museums which houses the largest collection of Venetian art in the world, with masterpieces by Bellini, Giorgione, Titian, Tintoretto, and Veronese.
The works, created in Murano at the Anfora glassworks — thanks to the expertise of master Andrea Zilio and Andrea Salvagno — are abstract forms without sharp edges that engage with the museum’s spaces. Strategically positioned along the exhibition route, they function as lenses that invite a different look at the displayed masterpieces.

The Consorzio Promovetro Murano and the Civic Museums of Venice present an exhibition curated by architect Matteo Silverio. Eleven glass works and installations, created by Murano masters from companies holding the Vetro Artistico® Murano trademark, interpret different aspects of Giacomo Casanova’s complex personality: each creation reflects the image of a cultured and visionary man alongside that of a vibrant and ever-changing Venice.

For the first time, the Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa hosts thirty young artists and designers under 35 from all over the world. The collective exhibition, curated by Stefano Coletto and Marta Gradenigo, presents innovative visions of artistic glass that reinterpret millenary tradition with contemporary languages.
The selected artists will have the opportunity to win the scholarship prize from the Corning Museum of Glass in New York to participate in one of the fifty summer classes in 2026.

Tony Cragg brings his glass sculptures to Venice with an exhibition curated by James Putnam in collaboration with Gervasuti Foundation and Berengo Studio.
The British artist, Turner Prize winner and pioneer in expressing the potential of glass as an artistic medium, creating innovative sculptures in the Berengo furnace in Murano since the first edition of Glasstress, investigates the formal aspects of the natural and artificial world.

Exhibition of works created by young female artisans trained by glass master Alessia Fuga and impiraressa Marisa Convento, with the support of the Fondazione The Place of Wonders.
A journey that recounts the commitment and dreams of those who have found a future in craftsmanship, with a particular focus on the ancient art of Venetian glass beads.
The initiative, in collaboration with the Londra Palace Venezia hotel and Venezia da Vivere, aims to promote emerging talent and pass on the legacy of Venetian bead art to new generations.

The artist Pico presents glass works including mandalas, icons, stills, magic wands, mirrors, a totem, and pyramids, one of which allows for sitting and meditating.
All objects are accompanied by playful and poetic instructions for use to be used as activators of wonder, tools for spiritual practice and daily inspiration. The nature of glass, with its combination of transparency, color, fragility, and strength, serves as a metaphor to evoke an awakening of consciousness.

The French artistic duo Perrin & Perrin exhibits five glass works on the first floor of the Palazzina Masieri, as part of the Architectural Landscapes exhibition already set up for the 19th Architecture Biennale, which presents site-specific installations in spaces designed by the great Venetian architect Carlo Scarpa.
For the Venice Design Biennial, the art gallery presents on the second floor the jewelry collection Miti & Surrealismo with zoomorphic sculptural rings by Walid Akkad, collaborations between Éric de Dormael and Agnès Baillon combining light and brass, explorations of fibers and weaves by Ulrika Liljedahl, silver pieces by Jean-Christophe Malaval inspired by mythology and futuristic architecture, and dreamlike creations by Elena Syraka that rework Mediterranean mythological heritage.
Three limited series of ceramic vases by Maison Matisse, created for the 150th anniversary of Henri Matisse’s birth and signed by Alessandro Mendini, Jaime Hayon, and Ronan & Erwan Bouroullec, complete the exhibition route.

The first solo exhibition in Venice by artist and designer Geraldina Bassani Antivari, active between Switzerland and Italy. The exhibition brings together blown glass sculptures created in Murano at the Wave Murano Glass and Seguso Vetri d’Arte furnaces.
The forms are inspired by the female body as a symbol of nourishment and vulnerability. The works hold deep emotions such as anger, hope, loneliness, and tenderness. After fifteen years as a creative director in the fashion world, the artist has developed a practice that spans glass, painting, inlay, embroidery, and assembly, combining materials and techniques in a personal aesthetic where motherhood, femininity, beauty, and violence coexist.

Fourth edition of the international exhibition dedicated to contemporary glass jewelry, organized by the Cultural Association Arte Design Venezia and curated by Eleonora Varotto and Lisa Balasso.
Fifty pieces of jewelry by 21 international designers explore glass as a boundary material: fragile and resistant, transparent and opaque, traditional and experimental.
Participating artists come from Mexico, Argentina, Croatia, Israel, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Spain, Latvia, Australia, Russia, Italy, the United Kingdom, and France.

The exhibition curated by Marino Barovier documents the relationship between Murano glass production and the Venice Biennale during a crucial decade, between the 1930s and 1940s, when Murano glass found space and recognition in this important international event, helping to define the artistic identity of Venetian glass on the contemporary scene.

The Venetian artist Mauro Bonaventura presents human figures that appear as essential and silent silhouettes. The glass sculptures, curated by Artistic Director Stefano Stipitivich, appear waiting, suspended in time, creating a silent dialogue between the inner self and the external world.

Until October 23, Domus Orsoni, next to the Orsoni Furnace, hosts the exhibition resulting from the collaboration between Orsoni Venezia 1888 and Designskolen Kolding (Denmark). The students, guided by fashion designer Silvano Arnoldo, created costumes inspired by the opera Alessandro nell’Indie by Pietro Metastasio, weaving gold tesserae mosaic, leathers, and sustainable materials with a contemporary approach.
The finissage, on Thursday, October 23, will be a live performance during Venice Fashion Week.

Exhibition project curated by Serena Andreucci and Silvia Pichi dedicated to the NARRATRAME collection by Silvia Pichi and Fernando Masone, together with garments by designer Gabriella Marin. The exhibition intertwines memory and modernity, reinterpreting three historic Venetian arts: glass seed beads, loom-made cotton paper, and artisanal fabrics.
Seed beads from the historic warehouses of the Franco Schiavon Gallery come back to life in the contemporary charms of NARRATRAME and in the hand-crafted natural fiber and brocade garments.

The “bocca del fuoco” (mouth of fire) is the opening of the furnace through which glassmakers access the crucibles containing the molten glass paste.
On the night of Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Murano furnaces open their doors to the public for Bocca del Fuoco, a non-competitive race and special event of The Venice Glass Week, which offers the opportunity to witness the work of master glassmakers and discover the island of Murano at night, passing through active furnaces on a route illuminated by hundreds of candles.
In a unique atmosphere, runners will be enveloped by the blasts of hot air from the glowing furnaces and will conclude the adventure with a dinner together with the masters and members of the event organizers, the Venezia Runners.

In 1961, the artist Claire Falkenstein created the entrance gates for Peggy Guggenheim’s house-museum, inserting cotissi — fragments of colored Murano glass — into a lattice structure of welded metal, a work of art that Peggy Guggenheim described as a piece of knitting.

Free activity
Boys and girls aged 4 to 10 can create sculptures inspired by the Entrance Gates to the Palace by Claire Falkenstein using glass, metal wire, and imagination. The activity allows children to experiment with combining different materials following the example of the American artist.
