UNESCO and Prada Group present Venice’s sustainable artisans
The walk through Venice’s Atelier Aperti Blu is a journey to discover the city’s artisans and creatives united in their practices by a particular attention to sustainability, the enhancement of the territory, and the protection of the sea and lagoon ecosystems.
A walk organized by Venezia da Vivere, a platform that tells the story of Venice’s cultural fabric, presented the Blue Artisans who opened their workshops and studios to share their stories with the community and promote in advance the World Ocean Conference, an event organized by Prada Group and the Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission of UNESCO that will take place at Ca’ Giustinian on June 7 and 8.
From May 25 until June 8, the closing day of the conference, the windows of the Blue Artisans will be symbolically united by a fil bleu representing their commitment to sustainability.
In each space, an industrial spool of ECONYL® regenerated nylon, the thread that composes Prada Re-Nylon fabric, represents the connection between UNESCO-IOC, Prada Group, and the SEA BEYOND educational project, which has been supported since 2019 by proceeds from the Prada Re-Nylon collection.
