How do you envision Venice in the future? The debate intensifies

Rewriting the future of Venice: the open debate that Venezia da Vivere and Associazione Piazza San Marco have created for the city’s rebirth continues.

The debate for the city’s rebirth intensifies: Luca Massimo Barbero, Director of the Art History Institute of the Fondazione Cini, Francesca Barbini, FAI Delegation of Venice, Gianpaolo Scarante, President of the Ateneo Veneto, Lorenza Lain, Ca’ Sagredo Hotel and Associazione Veneziana Albergatori, and Alberto Olivetti, Hotel Dragomanni and President of Consorzio Concave, have envisioned the future of Venice with creativity and great love for city life.

All participants suggest the creation of alternative economies to tourism, incentives for residency, new visions and ideas from those who will come, and the strengthening of technical competencies within the political class.

Significant participation also from citizens, who were asked the question How do you want to #RewriteTheFuture of Venice? through social networks: numerous suggestions about the Venice that citizens hope to experience in the near future have been received.

Ideas, visions, and suggestions will be published over time and compiled into a special infographic at the end of the project.

These and several others that will be published throughout May and beyond will become the guidelines for an upcoming international online conference, and will chronicle Venice’s rebirth day by day.
